關於Anytime的意思和用法的提問

A: “Any” means one, or some, or all are possible, and with “time” it means that whatever point in time is chosen, it will be okay.

"I am only in my third year in college. I won't be graduating anytime soon." (years)

A: I won't be able to fall asleep anytime soon.

The pizza won't be delivered anytime soon.

A: "When can I call you?" "Anytime at all!"

A: Yes, ‘anytime’ is more friendlier/casual. ‘Any time’ can be used in more situations than ‘anytime’ can as well.

A: Sometime soon is purposefully vague, in the near future sounds more certain. We also like to use "sometime" and "anytime" for vague arrangements:

Call me sometime.
今度電話してね！


So in those types of situations adding "soon" just makes you sound more eager but isn't exactly asking for a promise.

"Call me in the near future" sounds much stronger and if the person says "ok" it feels like a promise, like you're asking them to add it to their schedule.

A: "anytime" is similar to the word whenever, e.g.
"Are you free anytime?

in "any time", "time" is taken as a resource, e.g.
"Do you have any time?"
