"jenny likes the way he talks" is just the more natural, more used phrase. but it's not wrong to write "jenny likes the way that he talks"!

A: Two totally different things. Rare means unusual and has a positive connotation. Weird means odd and has a negative connotation.

I took away the "I recently bought" because if Sam's line can't be changed, then its not natural that he asks "when.." since Jenny is already stating that she recently purchased it.
