Peter Falk (The Great Race, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World)—JUST A SILLY MAN!! Sabotages four different cars (including his own, oopsie daisy) in the film The Great Race. Not film but TV, however, he is also known as the lovably silly little man Detective Columbo. Nobody knows what he's doing or where he's going at any time (even him).

They need to invent a PTSD where the way you were treated in your formative years destroyed your ability to form or keep meaningful or normal peer relationships, but you also don’t remember any of the bad things that happened to you. so now you’re an adult, but you feel like you’re 14 years old and you’ve never “hung out” with anyone before, and your 17 year old self says no he can’t sleep over because his mom won’t let him, and your 4 year old self asks you why your roommates don’t want to play with her, and you’re terrified you’re going to stay 14 forever and never experience the yelling and laughter you hear from your roommates in the room over. but it can’t be PTSD because you don’t remember what made you like this. you just remember that you weren’t always like this. you used to be able to do this. and now you’re here. now you’re you.
Finished Chi no Wadachi / Blood on the Tracks! (Though a more accurate translation seems to be “Trail of Blood”) I think the first three volumes made me think it was going to be more… intense than it was? The rest was a slower and more psychological story, which I did like a lot.
The art was absolutely gorgeous, I love how perception is achieved in comics… it’s a lot easier to have things appear for brief moments than more continuous media. Especially the use of light when hatching… blurred details. Really really great hand on it all.
The three acts were more distinct than I expected them to be but it did hold me off from solid prediction, which I liked. The story always took a more interesting route than I expected.
Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.
Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.
Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.
Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.
reminder that extermination camps were drawn up and pitched as the most cost-effective and efficient alternative only after mass deportations of jews "were realised to be infeasible," and were used only after draining the detained of all use for corporate profit and slave labor. that is what viewing the mass removal of human beings as a "business" gets you. we already know the private prison industry is foaming at the mouth this administration. do not be surprised when those in "detention centers" end up doing labor on behalf of other private corporations, just as our non-immigrant inmates do now
