visited different sites: San Isidro Canyon, Casa Blanca Canyon, Sierra de Gomas, Pablillo,
Puerto Cieneguillas, Sierra San Antonio Peña Nevada, Nuevo León, Mexico and La
Marcela, Miquihuana, Tamaulipas. We found a close relationship between the agaves and
herpetological activity; we also found that some large agave species could provide not only
refuge, but also sufficient space for foraging and thermoregulation/basking. Agave gentryi
and Agave montana formed large aggregations, which increased herpetological activity. We
suspect that agaves are used even more frequently than documented here.
