Additionally, the results of the study emphasize that cyberviolence and cyberbullying are extremely common among Palestinian Jerusalemite children and youth. 58% of the participants said that they were subjected to verbal abuse while using the Internet, 24% said that they were subjected to bullying, and 13% said that they were subjected to blackmail. It should be noted that 10% of the participants said that they had been subjected to sexual harassment online. The report's most important conclusion points out the urgent need that exists for Palestinian Jerusalemites both young and old to increase their capacity and knowledge regarding digital safety methods. This includes how to maintain privacy and protect their virtual accounts across different platforms from hacking or theft.

This paper explores the relationships between masculinity, flirtation and fantasy within the promotional arena of politics and PR. Flirtation is associated with coquetry and play, connoting a lack of seriousness, and in political flirtation, the desire to move between different opinions and ideas. Flirtation is often linked with femininity. Yet against a backdrop of masculinity in crisis, the study of flirtation, with its connotations of ambiguity and frustrated desire, is useful to explore the uncertainties of masculinities today. Dilemmas about flirtation as a tantalising performance resonate with misgivings about the seductive nature of political spin and the desire of politicians to woo audiences by flirting to the camera. Taking examples of politicians such as Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Barack Obama, this paper discusses the possibilities of flirtatious masculinity as a counter-hegemonic strategy within the symbolic battleground of Western politics, a struggle largely played out in print and digital media.

Recent work on DVD and home cinema technologies, audience and the context of reception has tended to focus on fandom, privileging the fanaticism that underpins the etymology of that term. This article is premised on focus group work that suggests, in counterpoint, that many contemporary collectors of DVDs do not see themselves as 'fans'. What does this mean for the discourses that are developing around the consumption of new media technologies and their role in everyday life? Drawing on interview material, this article discusses the relationship between Western masculinity and the phenomenon of DVD collection. It considers the pleasures of this activity alongside the spaces of resistance it produces and we argue that commentary that interprets such phenomena in terms of fetishism does not account fully enough for what is at stake. Drawing on object relations psychoanalysis, we suggest that the material object of the DVD works in tandem with its psychical equivalent to produce new spaces of exploration and creativity for men. Against the backdrop of the commonplace assumption that masculinity is in 'crisis', we suggest that men make use of technologies to forge new spaces of interaction with one another, arguing that this creates new formations through which to think about the cultural structuration of homosociality and its creative potential.

The beginning of history 1 OTHER DIMENSIONS Other dimensions! The problematic of the beginning of history is all about the beginning of other dimensions of living and co-production of livelihoods. A beginning that does not reside in texts and learned words, but arises out of diverse struggles emerging from within the global social body, and is thrown in the face of those who have proclaimed with crass certainty and ideological conviction that the era of the end of history has arrived. Yes, because the end of history 1 is not simply the title of a scholarly book coinciding with the planting of the banner of neoliberal capital on the ruins of 'real socialism' and the Eastern bloc. It also signals the largest attack on the commons in the West, East and in the global South through a quarter of a century of privatisations, cuts in entitlements, structural adjustment, financial discipline, public transfers shifted from social entitlements to meet needs of reproduction (health, education among them) to subsidise corporations, and the general increase in wealth polarisation, poverty, environmental degradation, war and political stupidity.

Commons movements' first goal is addressing directly different needs of reproduction by mobilising the natural and creative resources at their disposal. On the other hand, movements of protest mobilise these resources to put forward claims to the state so as to prevent the cut in these resources or their extension. For this reason, it is possible to find ideological and class divisions between commons movements and protest movements, which provide a fertile ground for capital to use these divisions and further its livelihood and ecological, crisisridden agenda. It is therefore becoming a vital necessity to develop paradigmatic horizons that favour an epistemic decoupling from capital, and a sense of how it is possible to link the formation of resilient alternatives that address the problems of ecology and livelihood posed by these crises, while at the same time building social movements that favour these alternatives and open more spaces for their development. We therefore face the double problem of how to link together the positive movement for commons to the negative movement of class. This paper seeks to shed some light on the relation between commons and capital today in the context of current crises, the patterns and risks of commons 'cooptation' by market mechanisms, and the potentials and opportunities for decoupling from capital.
