If you want to color it, just add cement pigment. The great thing about this technique is that after you pour the first, more liquid layer of cement, the remaining cement will start to thicken, making it easier to apply the second layer and shape it. Don’t stress, just grab a scraper and push the cement back up from the bottom. If it keeps sliding down, keep at it until it sets. Then it’ll be easier to handle.
