We all know that when you hem jeans the traditional way, the look like they have been hemmed. The way to avoid that is to keep the original hem.   Here is how to do just that:  Put them on and cuff them up to your desired length. Stand up straight and put on some shoes to make sure you like where they hit.   Pin just above the cuff.   Then measure from the bottom of the  cuff to the bottom of the original hem. Pin this way all the way around the leg. Try them on again to be sure.
