Fruitage of the spirit --- Gal. 5:22, 23.

In support of the idea that the best way of producing the fruitage of the spirit is by sharing as fully as possible with God’s gathered people, let us look again at the expression already quoted: “If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit.” (Gal. 5:25, NW) There we have the secret of our part in the cultivation and bearing of this desirable fruit. The apostle says nothing about a course of self-training by a process of mental exercise.

I don't know if it was my own idea or God putting it on my heart, but it's time to start teaching my kids about the fruit of the Spirit. There has been a lot of talk around here about "sharing love." But it has become a source of contention between S & E. "S stole my wand, he isn't showing love!" "E hit me, she isn't showing love." You get the idea. It's a reason to tattle. So I know I need to really teach them what it means to show love, not just say it. Well, when I pray about something…

Yet something to ponder now. After listing the works of the flesh and, on the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit, Galatians 5:25 speaks with conviction: “If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit.” One can leave the spirits influence, one can turn lawless, grow cold toward God. (Matt. 24:12) Yes, one can quit—it is easy. The principle to follow, wherever you go, whatever you do, is to ‘walk orderly by spirit.’
