This heirloom piece, passed down three generations, was no longer functioning as orignally intended but was greatly loved and ready for a new use. We started this project by removing what was remaining of the clock mechanism and face, and then cleaned and prep sanded the surface. We hand painted Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White on the exterior carefully distressing through for a bit of aged charm and then sealed in Annie Sloan Clear Wax. When you paint a clock, you have to be very careful to take out or tape off all the mechanics so nothing gets paint on it. We did that with this piece and then painted it with Benjamin Moore’s Midnight Dream 2129-10. Check out the full before and after on our blog.
