The Great Pottery Throw Down is back! After a rather long hiatus, 12 potters are once again putting their skills to the test in the iconic setting of Middleport Pottery, Staffordshire. Twisted Clay on Instagram: "In October of last year, Ryan and I got the chance to go to a workshop with @moondobang and learn the Korean throwing technique. There were aspects that took me a minute to love as it was such a departure from the way I had been taught. There were also things I immediately loved. I must admit that since returning to my studio, I have continued to use much of the technique, but there are things that I have sort of mixed with my old way of throwing.   One thing I love is the opening technique. I have a tendency to hyperextend my wrist when opening large forms and there have been times this has not served me well. The fact that he emphasized keeping your wrist straight when opening clay for throwing, really has helped me when throwing larger forms.
