Pickled Nasturtium Seeds aka poor man's capers. Full recipe in the link. Our garden full of nasturtiums was just going over and what I thought would be a quick tidy, turned into a full day pulling up all the nasturtiums and collecting the seeds. I love peppery nasturtium flowers in salads but I'd never had a big enough crop to pick the seeds until this year. So pick I did! Then I brined and pickled. I'm looking forward to pickled nasturtium seeds in salads, pasta and who knows what else. Flowers Recipes, Edible Flowers Recipes, Wild Food Foraging, Foraging Recipes, Foraged Food, Fermentation Recipes, Pickled Veggies, Meals In A Jar, Flower Food

Before you yank your plants out, hunt for those little pods to get one last use out of your nasturtium crop! You don’t need more than a handful to turn them into tasty “capers,” and though they’re sometimes called poor man’s capers, they have a distinct, mustardy flavor all their own.
