Today I'm excited to share with you some work I did for the lovely people at Shetland Wool Week. As the name suggests, Shetland Wool Week is a week long event that celebrates the Shetland wool, textile and farming industries. It takes place once a year, during the Autumn and the organisers approache

It is wonderful to see lots of you knitting the Baa-ble hat, the free pattern I designed for Shetland Wool Week 2015. It is also very exciting to see you using different colours, making them unique and I wanted to share a few that I have seen on Ravelry and Instragram for some inspiration! The Shetland Wool Week patron for 2020 has been named today as Shetland knitwear designer, Wilma Malcolmson, who is internationally renowned for her skilfully blended Fair Isle knitwear. The much-anticipated annual hat pattern, which is now synonymous with the launch of the patron has also been released. This year’s official hat, designed by Wilma, is called ‘Katie’s Kep’.

Fantastic events all week. Gudrun and I dropped into the Shetland Museum and watched Linda demonstrate Fair Isle Knitting using a knitting belt. She brought along some baby hats from her collection. The one on the right was worn my her mum in the 30's and Linda wore it when she was a teenager, and
