Will use this as a sketchbook and journal mix 🪶🎨
Of course there has to be a tree on the first page

Rachel Kim | Artist and Illustrator on Instagram: "Flicking through these pages of my first completed sketchbook, I thought back to the times where I struggled to even start, and wanted to share with you how I overcame it.

1. You’re a perfectionist: I still have at home a few sketchbooks that I’ve drawn on only a couple of times and abandoned because one of the drawings looked bad. I know - when this happens you wish you could just start all over again! ➡️ Try starting with something that you are most confident with, doesn’t have to be grand, a single flower would suffice! Then let’s build from there.

2. You bought an expensive sketchbook: this one relates to the first point. You’ve got the best sketchbook at the art shop and now you’re too scared to start! ➡️ My sketchbook in this ree Best Sketchbook, My Sketchbook, My Struggle, Illustrators On Instagram, Single Flower, Just Start, The Times, Art Shop, And Now

Apparently this is an interesting topic and the answers differ for several reasons.
Curious what other artists do and why? Check out the comment section of my previous post on @birgit_koopsen

The steps to make a page like this are:
1. Apply masking tape around the edges of the page.
2. Gel print a colorful background with acrylic paint.
3. Draw/doodle a variety of flowers and leaves with a permanent black pen.
4. Fill the open areas with a paint marker.
5. Apply highlights and extra color with paint ma Drawing Depth, Birgit Koopsen, Variety Of Flowers, Doodle A, Gelli Printing Art, Artistic Ideas, Draw Doodle, Gelli Printing, Black Pen

SketchViews on Instagram: "A repost. I know this was posted probably a couple of times, but for those still unaware of this video, here it is.

It is a different exercise. Try to drawing letters instead of writing them. Repeat the exercise through several pages. Try to improve the results as you go. After a few pages you get used to a certain rhythm and neater letters. Practice as many times as you can. Go back and look at the results in the first page. Keep going and do not get discouraged.

Some of these words that inspired me, were spelled by one of my favorite violinists of all time that I admire: Itzhak Perlman. I hope they inspire you as well.
