tentang Pengelolaan Cendana. Dibahas bagian-bagian yang menunjukkan
adanya potensi dominasi kekuasaan.

This study uses a qualitative ecolinguistic approach to analyze ecological metaphors in the natoni oral tradition of the Atoin Meto culture. Data comes from ten YouTube videos of natoni performances, supplemented by interviews. The metaphors were identified, classified, and analyzed to reflect the community's ecological worldview. The study shows that the lexicons in natoni contain ecological lexicons, including flora, fauna, and natural landscape. These lexicons are metaphorical languages that appear in parallelism which depict the social life of the Atoin Meto. Additionally, these lexicons indicate a close relationship with the Atoin Meto community, nature, and God. This research remains open for further study on other aspects of the ecological lexicon in natoni.

The focus on morphophonemic studies is based on the fact that reduplication is a word formation process involving repetition, making exploring the intersection and phonological roles in this process interesting. Data were obtained through observation and interviews. Based on the collected data, it is evident that reduplication can occur with verbs, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. For example, the noun neno, meaning 'day' has two forms of reduplication neno-neno, which functions as a noun, and "nen-neno," which serves as an adverb. The data also indicate that reduplication in the Dawan language consists of full and partial reduplication. Among these, partial reduplication is the most productive, while full reduplication is often used to emphasize objects or topics, suggesting a pragmatic aspect in full repetition. Common phonological processes found include sound elision and metathesis

border with Timor Leste. The aim is to reveal the language display, forms, and phenomena of changes in the linguistic landscape in the Indonesian border area. This is a descriptive-qualitative study that is intended to describe and analyze data in great detail and depth. The methods used in collecting data are observation and documentation. The results show that there are eight languages in public spaces namely Indonesian, English, Tetun, Dawan, Kupang Malay, Kemak, Arabic, and Portuguese. Language displayed in public spaces takes the form of monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual. The sociolinguistic change will depend greatly on the influence of social, political, and economic aspects but the chances are very small. Similar linguistic backgrounds, culture, and kinship relations with those in the border
area of Timor Leste are the main reasons why the Indonesian language dominates compared to the official language of Timor Leste. Meanwhile, the existence of local languages needs serious attention. All of this requires government intervention in terms of language policy to maintain the existence of regional languages as the identity of local communities.

The point of this study is to describe the morphosyntactic element of the middle voice in Uab Meto. There are three forms of middle voice constructions in Uab Meto, namely reflexive, reciprocal, and lexical. A subject-reflective enclitic demonstrates the middle's reflexivity. Ma-, which is usually linked to the verb, signifies reciprocity. es nok es "each other" (lit. "one with one") is an additional signal that the construction is reciprocal, but its use is optional. There is a lexical middle verb type that is unmarked and syntactically intransitive. The argument's interpretation depends on the speaker's perceptions of the circumstances

The data of this study were collected directly from the transportation around the streets. They were analyzed using qualitative methods, while the symbolic functions were analyzed using a critical discourse analysis model. It found that land transportation uses multi-languages, English, Indonesian, Kupang Malay, Uab Meto (Dawan), Rote, Sabu, Hebrew, Latin, and Betawi. Some use a particular style of language, such as p27den, and a combination of two or more languages or dialects. English is the most dominant language used. The lack of local languages shows massive cultural changes and people's attitudes toward local languages. The linguistic unit consists of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and acronyms. English is dominant in each linguistic unit except in acronyms. The quotes represent six themes: love, religion, music, power, family, and regionalism....

The data was obtained through observation of Dawan language speakers by applying the note-taking method. Other data were obtained from literature in Dawan's language, namely Beno Alekot (bible) and Si Knino (songbook). In addition, the data is supported by intuitive data from the researcher as a native speaker of the Dawan language. Considering the variety of dialects in this language, the data and discussion are focused on the Amanuban dialect. The results show that the mechanism of valency-increasing in the Dawan language is a transitive process. This process is carried out through the strategy of adding new arguments such as in causative construction or promoting peripheral arguments into core arguments as in applicative construction. The transitive referred to is the process of making an intransitive clause into a transitive or a transitive into a ditransitive. This process does not cause morpholo...

In order to understand the structure, procedure, and causative marking of the Dawan language, thi... more In order to understand the structure, procedure, and causative marking of the Dawan language, this paper addresses causative construction in the Dawan language. Since the writer is a native speaker of the language, the primary data from the field study was corroborated by written materials like the bible in the Dawan language as well as by intuitive data. The elicitation technique combined the two sets of data to obtain valid data. The outcome demonstrates four distinct forms of causative construction: affixation, complex sentences, verb serialisation, and the addition of a causer argument. The transitive form, derived from an intransitive clause, adds the causer argument. S is transferred to the O function, and a causer argument is added to the A function. The conjunction natuin or fun indicates causative marking in a complex sentence. This study considers the Dawan language's causative verb serialization is the most fruitful construction. There are two types of this construction: causative serialisation and causeeffect serialisation. In the first type, V1 is an action verb with the lexical meaning "causative," V2 is the outcome (effect) of what V1 has done. In contrast to the first, the causative verbs moe/mo'e "make" and eik "bring" occupy V1 in causative serialisation, while the outcome of the action in V1 occupies V2. The final method is causative construction by affixation, or the morphological process.

Data were obtained from signboards in Kupang City through photographic techniques in September 2021. The results showed that the names of churches in the city of Kupang were divided into 7 categories, namely biblical terms, names of people, names of places, churches as residences, topographic, names of plants and animals. From the language used, there are 7 languages in the church name, namely Indonesian, Hebrew, Greek, Latin, English, Aramaic, and Dawan languages. The use of a foreign language other than English in church names is not related to literacy or congregational culture but has a symbolic function that contains values and ideology because these names are taken from the Bible and have meaning. Meanwhile, English follows developments and shows the internationality of the church. In addition, the Dawan language is the only language used in the name of the church to show the locality of culture and as a marker of identity in the area.

This is because most of the terms used in the context of COVID-19 are often foreign languages or adaptations from foreign languages. Therefore, guidelines for health protocols have been published in various local languages in Indonesia, including the Dawan language. The data for this study were obtained from the book of Pedoman Perubahan Perilaku Penanganan COVID-19 (a guidebook of a behavioral change during a pandemic) in the Dawan language, field observations, and interviews. The results showed that the presence of new lexicons in various languages did not occur in Dawan’s language. This is caused by translation, lack of socialization regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, limited vocabulary, and government policies. Thus, it can be said that there is no significant effect of the presence of the COVID 19 pandemic on Dawan’s language lexicon.
