Does innovation by firms augment employees' impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) perform... more Does innovation by firms augment employees' impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) performance? In this study, we examine the role that innovations play in connecting human resource management (HRM) practices (such as training and development, communication and information, compensation and reward, job design and performance appraisal) with SME performance. This is based on research that looks at human-innovation collaboration, HRM practices and SME performance. Indeed, to date, there has not been a comprehensive HRM-innovation-SME performance framework adequately documented in the literature. Therefore, we conducted a quantitative study using selfadministered questionnaires with the SMEs. First, we find that the implementation of HRM practices results in a higher level of innovation and performance among SMEs and that this enhanced innovation ultimately leads to an increase in SME performance. Next, we find that innovation mediates (changes positively) the relationship between HRM practices and SME performance. We conclude that generating creative employees through appropriate HRM practices can improve SME performance, but this desirable outcome depends on realising the innovation rate. This study makes a significant contribution to the body of knowledge about the relationship between high-commitment HRM practices, innovation and SME performance.

The aim of this study is to fill this research gap by measuring the effect of IOC in EE, thereby providing a significant contribution to the growing domain of organizational communication. Specifically, this paper investigates the relationship between eight dimensions of IOC (such as communication climate, supervisory communication, organizational integration, media quality, co-worker communication, company information, personal feedback, and subordinate communication) and three dimensions of EE (employee vigour, employee dedication, and employee absorption). The present study involved the administration of a survey to a sample of 152 employees working in public secondary education institutions within the Republic of North Macedonia. The data was subjected to analysis using SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that several IOC dimensions play a crucial role in predicting various dimensions of EE, such as employee energy, dedication, and absorption within the organization. The findings of this study make a substantial contribution to the existing knowledge on the relationship between IOC and EE in nonprofit organizations.

Employing the contingency approach, this study develops a research model that validates the assumption that appropriate internal orchestration of HR practices improves firm performance. Using AMOS, data from 157 manufacturing firms are analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that T&P fully mediates the relationship between T&D and OP, and partially mediates the relationship between PA and OP. This study, which provides empirical support for the importance of OP to firm effectiveness, finds that OP is positively related to financial performance (FP). The study develops a theoretical logic and empirically demonstrates that T&P is an appropriate practice for mediating the impact of T&D and PA on OP. The inclusion of T&P contributes to the theory and shows that appropriate internal orchestration of HR practices can realize effective OP and consequently greater FP of the firm.

Therefore, by taking an interdisciplinary approach with a relational perspective, this study takes an integrative and fresh approach toward illuminating the role of SCM practices in realizing the potential influence of HRM practices on organizational performance. Using the data obtained from 157 manufacturing organizations, this study tests, examines and develops the mediating role of SCM practices. The findings indicate a positive linkage between HRM practices, SCM practices and organizational performance. In addition, the findings also show that SCM practices mediate the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance.

The aim is to indicate the effects of Porter's generic strategies (low-cost strategy, differentiation strategy, and focus strategy) on firm performance. The questionnaires of the study have been prepared, the responses have been obtained, and the econometric model is constructed to measure these relationships. Findings stemmed by data that were taken from 113 firms that operate in the Republic of Kosovo. t test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and mul-tivariate regression analysis were used to provide testing of hypotheses. Econometric results suggest that pursuing differentiation strategy provides higher firm performance compared to two other Porter's generic strategies (low-cost strategy or focus strategy) that have a positive impact as well.

Addressing this concern , the aim of this paper is to measure the relationship between industry barriers that prevent the entry of new rivals and increase the profitability of incumbent firms. The study was based on the data of one hundred and seven executives of firms that operate in the Republic of Kosovo, and it attempts to assert and order the market entry barriers. The responses were collected by questionnaires and the econometric model was constructed, to test this relationship. The findings were obtained using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multivariate regression. Econometric results indicated that seven dimensions of industry barriers have a direct and positive impact on the profitability of incumbents and serve as barriers for new firms to enter the market, and showed that business executives in Kosovo perceive capital requirements of non-incumbents as the most important entry barrier, whereas access to distribution channels as the least important. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed and explained.

Hitherto, few empirical studies have tested this relationship at the conceptual level by analyzing a set of HRM practices simultaneously. In response to this gap, this study conceptualizes and develops three HRM practices (recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance appraisal) and tests their influence on operational performance. This relationship was tested using hierarchical regression model. The findings point out that an appropriate application of HRM practices provides a higher operational performance. Additionally, it clarifies the importance of HRM practices and helps organizations, which operate in an emerging economy, to increase the ability and knowledge on employing HRM practices.

moderating role of information sharing (IS), in the relationship between lean manufacturing and firms’ financial
performance (FP).
Design/methodology/approach – Utilizing the contingency approach, this study develops a research model
to validate the proposition that a proper integration of supply chain (SC) practices enhances the financial
performance of the firm. The study uses data from one hundred and fifty-seven manufacturing firms. The
results are generated on structural equation modeling (SEM) using AMOS software.
Findings – The study finds that strategic supplier partnership partially mediates the relationship between
lean manufacturing and FP, whereas, empirically, it could not demonstrate that IS significantly moderates the
relationship between lean manufacturing and FP.
Practical implications – The paper theoretically develops logic for and empirically shows that strategic
supplier partnership is an appropriate practice for mediating the impact of lean manufacturing on FP.
Originality/value – This strategic supply chain integration contributes to theory and demonstrates that SC
practices’ correct synchronization and orchestrationmay realize superior FP. In addition, this research provides a
sustainable strategic SCmodel that creates value and provides a competitive advantage for firms in the long term.
