Şengül Çelik
Dr. Sengul Celik is an academic staff member and a researcher at the chair of Philosophy (PIII). Her research areas are ethics, applied ethics, contemporary Turkish thinkers, and women studies.In 1996, she graduated from Middle-East Technical University Philosophy department with a bachelor degree and from Political Sciences with a minor diploma. She wrote her master thesis on ontology and had her master degree in December, 1999. In her dissertation, she studied ethics and she graduated on May, 2008 from Middle-East Technical University, Ankara.Between 2005- 2013 she worked at Fatih University, Istanbul. She held the chair of Philosophy Department at Fatih University for five years. During these years she did a project under supervision of Prof. Ahmet Inam. The project was supported from Middle-East Technical University and Development Agency of Government. The project was about contemporary Turkish Philosophers. The project group did interviews and collect data of current philosophy professors in Turkey.During 2013- 2017 she worked at Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul. She was granted from Yildiz Technical University Research Found to her research on abortion. She developed a proposal to evaluate issues on abortion from intergenerational justice perspective and published an article on this topic. In one of her articles on women’s right she proposed a “glocal” perspective for the solution of the conflicts on women issues.In 2019, she taught a course at Mannheim University as a guest professor. Now she is granted a scholarship from PSI and working as a researcher at Mannheim University.She published journal articles, proceedings, a book and edited two books.
