Davide-Giulio Aquini
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage from UTIU in Rome, followed by a Master's degree in Ancient Civilisations from Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Currently, I am working towards a Ph.D. at the University of Catania, Department of Humanities. In addition to my academic endeavours, I am also a designer in the realm of high craftsmanship, blending traditional techniques with digital innovation.
My current research focuses on deepening our understanding of ancient goldsmithing production in the Mediterranean Area, with a particular emphasis on the islands of Crete and Sicily. From a methodological standpoint, my objective is to explore how skills in digital and product design can enrich the archaeological approach, highlighting how this synergy can open new perspectives in the understanding and dissemination of the past.
