Hi! I know that some people are moving here from twitter, so I feel like it’s a good time to advertise myself a little! I’m Unnaturaldecay, I enjoy drawing DnD/TTRPG for myself & for commissions, and of course look to find more artists and viewers interested in the same niche!
Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I’m sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It’s extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they’re buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.
another addition as far as physical media goes there is the encyclopedia of national dress (that i still need to buy myself bc this kind of thing is super important to my sort of fantasy designing) but yes i do agree i wish there was EVEN MORE documentation on this

Please be aware that the “opt-out” choice is just a way to try to appease people. But Tumblr has not been transparent about when has data been sold and shared with AI companies, and there are sources that confirm that data has already been shared before the toggle was even provided to users.
Also, it seems to include data they should not have been able to give under any circumstance, including that of deactivated blogs, private messages and conversations, stuff from private blogs, and so on.
Do not believe that “AI companies will honor the "opt-out request retroactively”. Once they’ve got their hands on your data (and they have), they won’t be “honoring” an opt-out option retroactively. There is no way to confirm or deny what data do they have: The fact they are completely opaque on what do they currently “own” and have, means that they can do whatever they want with it. How can you prove they have your data if they don’t give everyone free access to see what they’ve stolen already?
So, yeah, opt out of data sharing, but be aware that this isn’t stopping anyone from taking your data. They already have been taking it, before you were given that option. Go and go to Tumblr’s Suppport and leave your Feedback on this (politely, but firmly- not everyone in the company is responsible for this.)
Finally: Opt out is not good under any circumstance. Deactivated people can’t opt out. People who have lost their passwords can’t opt out. People who can’t access internet or computers can’t opt out. People who had their content reposted can’t opt out. Dead people can’t opt out. When DeviantArt released their AI image generator, saying that it wasn’t trained on people who didn’t consent to it, it was proven it could easily replicate the styles of people who had passed away, as seen here. So, yeah. AI companies cannot be trusted to have any sort of respect for people’s data and content, because this entire thing is just a data laundering scheme.
since tumblr is going to start scraping blogs to train ai be sure to glaze and nightshade your art!! Not only will both of these programs protect your art from being copied but nightshade also poisons any ai that tries to steal it

My Earth Genasi makes a return for princes of apocalypse game! I got invited at lvl 8 tho, i’ve been reading that the 3rd part of the adventure feels disconnected from first two, and i suppose what’s why the group decided to start over with new characters
I renamed her to Mika btw! There’s her new artwork for the token, AND a quick design for her noble dao patron, Vishanti. Pls don’t ask me how she goes thru doors, she can cast Wish and True polymorph, i promise it’s not an issue lmao. She’s secretly sort of a mom to Mika, indirectly. She had fallen in love with a mortal half elf woman once and had a passionate romance with her for like 10 years, but little by little her lover got fed up with Vishante’s bullshit (as a neutral evil and extremely powerful inhuman being she mostly sees those below her, like normal people, as a source of entertainment and resources at best. She doesn’t go out of her way to do evil, but she’s, undeniably, an asshole) and dumped her. Vishante didn’t take it well and is extremely salty about it to this day. Her ex remarried later and had kids with someone else, but, due to her spending so much time on elemental planes and with a genie, all children she had were born as Earth Genasi. i imagine that was quite the talk with her husband. Vishante was spitefully happy about it tho
I can only imagine how ironic it is for unimaginably powerful being to fall in love with a mortal so much and then get dumped by her years later cause you’re somehow not good enough. She still doesn’t get why that happened. This story is very melodramatic and is full of toxic yuri, i’m. I’m obsessed with them. Mika doesn’t know shit about any of it tho
