I know Juno claimed him as her champion when he was born and stuff, but I do wonder if a part of what endears Jason to her is that he isn't one of Zeus/Jupiter's favorites.

She probably has a big inferiority complex directly caused by Zeus cheating her. Not helped by Zeus keeping his gloating mistresses Leetoe & Smelly in her sight on Olympus and openly favoring their sons to hers.

But Jason Grace is not one of the sons he favors. Despite his power, this boy is no Hercules, he's not lucky enough to be that loved.

Maybe she sees her own children's pain in him... Ares never being able to make Zeus proud no matter what he does, Zeus being a major asshole to Hephaestus when he opposes Zeus to do the right thing, Hera's daughters never receiving the same love from Zeus that Athena and Artemis do (if he remembers them at all).

Obviously Jason's case is made worse by Beryl being... not a good mom.

Remember that Hera is the same woman who acted motherly to Heracles after he was rejected by his mother (not blaming Alcmene btw, Heracles was a product of her rape) before realizing he was one of her husbands favored bastards (who he planned to make king of HER patron city).

She has a soft spot for children like Jason.

Thalia watched how Nico got his whole divine family,including the step-mom that should hate him (like Hera's treatment towards her because of the cheating) and grand-mother (like what???),to the battle ; and then got to know how Percy convinced Poseidon to help the Gods fighting Typhoon,even with his kindgom and people in danger,knowing full well that Zeus will never do that for her.

Percy and Nico got their dads (and family) to fight for and with them,because even if they are sometimes shitty,they still care enough for their children to actually help them and being involved in their life. The only thing Zeus did for her was turning her into a tree (not even his own tree,because Pines are Poesidon's and not Zeus's) for a couple of years,to prevent her from dying.

Even her brother had the opportunity to fight with their dad in BoO,something that Thalia herself never had. And she probably feels bitter about it,because Poseidon and Hades care for their children,even after the oath was broken,but her dad was never there for her and barely did anything to help her.

I wish the hoo books didn't erase the 'roman-ness' from jason completely just because he adapted to the greeks. we needed a proper, cold, calculating roman representation. hazel and frank could just as easily fit into the greeks because they were very new to camp jupiter and reyna was shipped off to the hunters.

jason was always kind of eccentric in the argo ii if you guys hadn't noticed. when jason was talking in praise about diocletian(?) hazel looked at him in horror because he wasn't supposed to be saying good things about him. but the romans were supposed to be like that. they were supposed to take in the beneficial aspects of even bad people, they didn't think about feelings. they were the "we see good in everyone but only because we need them for our benefit".

it would take a million years for jason to trust someone completely, hot take but he would take longer than nico to warm up to someone. nico is just more open about not trusting someone, but jason would hide it better. annabeth said jason had this unnerving vibe about him and neither she or hazel could get a read on him. he would be calculating your every move and would read so much into what you say, because he's a roman by blood, by virtue.

and jason would take betrayals HORRIBLY, arguably he'd take it the hardest, it isn't easy to anger him but a broken promise, a broken trust, drives him absolutely insane.

I like that during the course of the life series, the winner got thier own private void-like place were they discuss what to do next.

Like they have no control over when the new game starts, but they go in with a vague plan.

AND in this little room they discuss who they want to win, and just tell, Scott "Yeah you gotta be at least communicating and co-operating with this person on the regular, uh-huh yeah-no we think they should win because... "

Because Pearl and Scott were soulmates, she won.

Martyn and Scott were Mean Gills, he won.

Scar and Scott were like a one-off, we're allies when they aren't looking, kinda thing, and Scar won.

(and before you say "Scar said he had no friends" in one of his episode he express the point of reminding Scott that they're allies and to be loyal and what-not before going to do his task or asking for something, eg: The diamond sword)

While I do not watch Martyn, and have only known of him passively through the years, he might be one of the funniest guys I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.

Every single time a clip of his comes to my side of the internet I am left shocked and appauled by the fact that this man exists and is on Tumblr.

He scares me. I respect him so much. I want to meet him just to see if he adds cocaine to his streams or something. One man CANNOT be that naturally funny.

I follow him on here, just because every time he posts I am left gagging as to what the hell is going on. WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE INTERACTED WITH MPREG OF HIMSELF?!

ok but hear me out all the life series winners have a little bit of an additional part of them plus their celestial symbol, based on the series they won.

Grian is the 'watcher'. Although he can see everything, he is particulary attracted to fights. While others chalk it up to him being chaotic, its because he won a fight for his series win. Its like a sixth sense, he can basically smell blood in the water. His knuckles are perpetually bruised from it. He smells of freshly drawn blood and lilacs. His wings are never really the same after the tussle in the cactus.

Pearl and Scotts come as a pair, they are the 'Soulmates'. They can drift their ways into eachothers world at will. Pearl always has atleast one dog at her heel and her cloak in permanently stained in blood at the edges. Since last life was the first time the boogey was active, he gets random flares of bloodlust every once in a while. Pearl doesn't try to calm him down, they are far past the calm.

Martyn is a 'Listener', as the name suggests he listens. But hes also very obsessive about checking the time. He carries a pocket watch with him at all times, sometimes he'll just stare at is as the time ticks down, its his version of rebellion. Hes also constantly calculating how worthit it would be to kill someone, he wouldnt want to waste his time would he?

Scar is the 'Merchant', hes always selling something or trying to buy something, despite having next to no time to gather resources. He always manages to get people to buy his wares with his eternally silver tongue. Theres also the odd pang of lonliess every once in a while, and theres atleast 1 sunflower on his person at all times. Hes been known to smell like magic.

Joel and his car would maybe be the 'Traveller', iykwim? Hed show up at different places in times that really made no sense. He can also travel to other times, not just places. His favorite to visit had to be the limited life series, with his bad boys. He takes the leather jacket now soaked in blood and it stays with him. He also meets martyn there. They dont find it in themselves to look eachother in the eye. To acknowledge this is to talk about these curses gifts.
