The comic itself is a fantasy coming-of-age type story that started off as me and a friend just rambling about D&D character backstories. It’s now neither D&D nor a backstory and we’re having a blast

Hehe thank you I’m having a great time revisiting it. A handful of people might remember that this game was super influential on my art back when I was getting started on socials so it feels extra fun to go back and see what I can do with it now

Can I ask you how you motivate yourself to draw so often? You seem to post quite often and have a comic and all sorts, I aspire to have that level of drive so any tips would be appreciated 🙌🏼

I just have a lot of ideas and scenes and sources of inspiration all the time so I never really run out of things to work on. Sometimes I burn out a little on a specific task (or comic or whatnot) but since I have multiple things to tap into all the time I just try to context switch and do something that’s more fun at the moment to get the spark back

Drawing fast definitely helps too because it means each idea is relatively quick and effortless to execute, so I don’t feel discouraged when thinking about starting something (and since I finish most drawings in 1-2h I also frequently get a sense of accomplishment that feeds into back my motivation

(If you browse my “tutorial” tag there’s a couple of posts on how I got fast and became comfortable with drawing, etc)

Aside from that it just has to do with how obsessive I am, how I balance my workload and the fact that art is my job so I have a lot of external and internal factors pushing me to draw. I will say one thing I rarely do is force myself to work on something I don’t feel motivated to (if I have a choice). I think walking away from art and doing other things that bring you joy when it’s not working out can be a very effective way to deal with burnout tbh

I’m 100% not prepared for it, I find myself looking at it going “teehee” like an idiot. Then I remember it’s the arcana fanart in 2025 and have to sit there with this information in quiet judgement of my own actions
