Happy Easter. You should have killed me when you had the chance, I promise you will not get another.
my flatmates and i were talking about the little adult tips and tricks you learn living with other people, and one thing we were discussing is all the little things you sometimes don’t think about cleaning (but can be really helpful + beneficial to do)!
here’s another one lots of people forget
since this is back in my notes, here’s another addition
(also - lots of people forget to clean their toothbrush holder, me included lmao. try to do that somewhat frequently, bc that swiftly becomes the nasty zone)
another addition that came up in my flat that a lot of people miss (+ get embarrassed/shamed for), which is 100% understandable if you’re never taught or it never comes up
Another addition of things people tend to forget/miss/maybe not do as often as they could or should
Another good addition - oral health is super important, and lots and lots of people struggle with it! It’s also important to stay on top of though because realistically, dental care is extremely expensive, and avoiding needing it where possible is going to make your life a lot easier
New addition! I have a more in-depth post somewhere about foot care as someone with chronic plantar fasciitis.
Lots of people don’t care good care of their feet for a number of reasons, but probably a lot because it doesn’t even cross their mind. However taking good care is a really good idea because pain or damage to the foot is genuinely terribly, plus can seriously inhibit mobility.
Even learning stretches you can do in the morning/evening while you check your phone, or when you’re at a desk, or whenever works can be a real game changer. I reduced a hell of a lot of pain just by making the effort to commit 10 mins a day to stretching through my heels and foot. It is very much worth it.
Another addition to this ever growing post: razor care!
not applicable to everyone (because you really shouldn’t ever feel obliged to shave) but useful if you do. keeping the blades sterile is good (esp if you’re like me and prone to nicking yourself), and proper care can help you extend the life of any razor (and we all know these kinds of costs can add up)
Im gonna be so real can yall actually talk about ways we can support trans women in the UK instead of giving all the attention to fucking JKR. “The ADL refused to endorse Harris! The only reason the ADL didn’t endorse Trump is that they knew their Jewish base would be angry!”
The reason the ADL didn’t endorse Harris is the same reason they didn’t endorse Trump: the ADL doesn’t endorse candidates. They’re a 501(c)(3) organization.
But you don’t understand I wanted to the adl to commit tax fraud 😭
Anyway, they literally told you trump was “unfit for office” before the 2024 election campaign started, so get over yourselves.
Coming back to this because you know who did commit tax fraud by claiming to be an apolitical nonprofit and then engaging in political campaigns?
JVP vvvv
So I guess keep donating if you want, because they’re just going to end up forking over the money to lawyers and settlements with the US government.
37 people were illegally detained in Bellingham, Washington for the ‘crime’ of speaking Spanish. This is so fucking inhumane and cruel
it's shameful how long i had to look to find an article covering this story that gives more information besides saying "37 undocumented workers were arrested wednesday." cascadia news and the AP were the only sources i found that include any journalism whatsoever beyond the police report.
i urge those of y’all who are local and affected by ICE policies to be more cautious than ever.
