Inked version of the female fighter that I posted yesterday at the block-in stage. Realized halfway way through that the torso was over-torqued and couldn’t convincingly be resolved in line, especially as my current “style” is more literal/specific than expressive/suggestive. Changes had to be made!
Blocking in a figure without reference in Procreate. Don’t know much about the software, to be honest. Working with “soft pastel” brush & eraser in black, but w/ layer opacity at 35%. Ghostly image is intriguing, maybe better than the inked version will be, but inking practice is the point. Ah well…
In fact, the figure you see above has reached the point where I usually start to develop the line art these days. A bit reckless not to properly pencil, but I lose interest when I feel like I’m just tracing existing lines, although — note to self — even when inking tightly pencilled work one must try to keep drawing. No autopilot.
It’s been a long time since I have paid any attention at all to my Redbubble account, but a follower – at least, I think they were a follower – recently asked me if I would upload my image, “The Realm of Freedom vs. The Sphere of Necessity,” and after some consideration, against my better judgment, I have done so, although, sadly, the format of the image is unsuitable for many of the products that Redbubble offers. Anyway, if you’re interested, here’s the link:

Hope it reproduces decently. I hate selling stuff.
P.S. The original post, which doesn’t include the above sales pitch and so might be a better choice if you would like to reblog the image, is here:
