I’ve started bringing some ink supplies to work meetings and have been chipping away at this one for a couple weeks :) This is Muzni, the deity of blizzards. They live in the mountain range of the north of Omikti’s breath. In these parts, it’s common knowledge that if you see their footprints in the snow, you’d better stay safely indoors until things calm down.

A new design for Anilei, the deity of light and of the moons.

Okali has three moons, named after insect lifestages; the Larva, the Pupa, and the Imago. Anilei’s insect-like appearance reflects this, with her head being like that of a larva, and her wings not quite straightened out, like those of teneral (freshly molted) insects.

She’s one of those deities that is rarely seen up-close, but it’s common to spot her in the corner of your vision on clear, bright nights. On the rare occasions every few decades that every moon is full or new at the same time, she makes herself known.

In the dead of winter, some flowers still grow, using the magic stored in their roots to shine through the endless night. Curious creatures approach them and carry their pollen on their breath and in their whiskers. The small ones may get a nectar treat for their work, and yet bigger ones stay just as fascinated by the phenomenon.

So it’s been a crazy couple days for my itch.io notifications, because the site’s algorithm decided to bless me with putting the game in the top results for furry games! It was even on the front page of the site for a couple hours. absolutely wild. i’m so happy. Idk if many people who found the game through this have come to the tumblr, but if you did welcome lol!

Pretty pretty foliage sneak peek for today! :3 Sorry for the slow updates, I’m still making progress on the game, but work’s keeping me busy sadly. But I also have some nice side projects for Okali that I can’t wait to reveal… :3c

In the mountains surrounding the Goddess’ Passage, these large kullau roam the skies, looking and smelling for one thing: cadavers. They hang out in bands of five or six individuals, sometimes a little more. Every year, there’s large congregations of dozens of these creatures. They’ll breed, and then take one egg each to raise in solitude for about two months before regrouping.

While most burial customs include returning the body to the sea, due to the presence of the deity of death in the abyss, the people living in the mountains often don’t have the means to do this directly. So, instead, they leave the deceased’s body out in the open, often quite far out from any town, with nothing but a single object that represented them in life. The vulture-like kullau and other scavengers will devour the body, even the bones eventually, but leave the object behind, for it’s often a piece of jewelry, ceramic, or something else inedible. This object is then sent to the sea itself as soon as possible, sometimes even given to a passing traveler who’ll take on the responsibility.
