Unsure where everyone will settle (i’m immovable from this dumpster fire) but I have a cohost and a bluesky up while I can still grab my actual username✨
cast your opinions gamers do i pay the $45 (painful, for my ’$20 is expensive, $5 is more like it’ self) for BG3 finally or do i cannibalize veilguard’s poor looted corpse for that 50% discount.
note that you all know ive played DA and am so so normal about it, but i also very much enjoyed dos2 and was the now forgotten person in my friend groups shilling for larian when bg3 was in early access like “i think you can trust them, really”. I have an aerial view of what im getting into with each, this is a question to answer with your most petty baseless opinion.
Spend my money I forgot to spend on something else

update to this: i did get baldur’s gate, made rhys’ dnd version (drow sorcerer)
he’s failed every arcana check since the beginning and never missed on a strength or dex check including lockpicking. he’s a wild magic sorcerer. he turned into an actual sheep during the first big fight.
lae'zel confessed to wanting to lay him out like a piece of drow jerky while both of them were covered in spider guts and he was alive on temporary hp from her rally lmao. she also tried to kill him later that night. he barely convinced her not to because astarion killed him the night before and he had a penalty on every roll.
its going great.

love the contrast of
Rhys: cursed ass twink. had to be designed to abuse any and all dodge mechanics, had multiple ways to hit a whole room of people in combat and couldn’t land the roll to do any of them. Even the ones that relied on the 60+ stat. Failed a fear test as a jaded talent navigator with 55 willpower.
Erasmus: luckiest grandpa alive. rolled consistent sub 20 ballistic shots, even called shots into melee. Failed one willpower test and is possibly headspace roommates with a tzeentch demon, but thats ok because he won a -30 lore check to find a cool beacon out in space and know (impossibly) what it is.
you ever just want to scoop that awful thing right out of your chest (well, for only three payments of 19.95–)
this is the only time i will provide a close up of hands. ever. also for the two asks wondering, he my boy from a Rogue Trader/DH2 (tabletop) mashup with some friends, i forget the crpg exists 😭
my aesthetic choices for this poor old man are not helping beat any allegations of him just being 40k thnatos lmao
i like. i never try to be alarmist but it just kind of baffles me how many years I’ve tried having conversations about information sharing and how no, no one has “nothing to hide”, no one has a life where they will never become a target of suspicion, some people just live lives that have never forced them to think about that fact and face it.
i can tell a traffic stop is just a possible fine to you. it is to me. i also could see on the cop’s perplexed face when he pulled younger me over at 1am when leaving a late shift that from the moment he smelled fried corn and restaurant sweat wafting out the window rather than weed and found a pale kid in an apron and ball cap–yeah, he didn’t stop me because i had a charm obscuring my rear view mirror. He stopped me because my car was old and cheap and left the lot at the same time as another old car. He stopped me because the hat and hairnet I forgot to take off didn’t let him see my face first. He stopped me because he was rolling the dice he would find someone else. When he rushed through without realizing that i handed him my provisional, vertical license from 5 years back, I knew it wasn’t me he wanted at all. But he still turned his lights on.
Eventually the lights will come on behind you. You were out late. You were sick and just trying to get to the medicine aisle, and when you passed an employee, they took your sore throat mumble and cloudy eyes as something else.
You took too long, looked too long, showed up at the wrong time, or said something that was too loud for Susan behind the counter. Combative, non-compliant, manipulative. You feel so distant from the homeless man laying down in the parking lot and blocking traffic until an ambulance finally answers his calls, but you are five steps from him and five miles from the cop who looks through the window at the scene and shrugs, knowing and companionable, at you.
