The meetup "WikiOligarchy?" aims to define potential points for overcoming the issues.
Details
Wikipedia is opened for everyone but wikimedia community is closed. What are there issues and potential solutions for them?
Agenda
- Wiki community is too Wikipedia centric (what about diversity in wiki community). Over attenton to guys who write.
- Newcomers have a big threshold for participating in the community (for example, pupils in scchool and students). "Profesinalization" of wikimedians.
- Big chapters impose their rules for small chapters (for example, russian and belarusian) and create too high formal criteria for contributing.
- Now transparent decision-making (for example, how the place for WCEE 2017 was chosen in Macedonia)
