i always felt super guilty sending anon messages cuz what if im intruding on your personal time// or what if im wasting your time by having you think+type out a reply when you have much more important stuff to do// it must be exhausting thinking of the plot-writing a fic-rechecking it-posting it on tumblr and then having to reply to messages too (this was my thought process till now lol)
basically,, i just didnt want to burden you guys even more cuz youre already doing sm for us by writing such amazing fics while expecting nothing but recognition for your hardwork:((
i mean its probably just my overly anxious ass overthinking everything and feeling guilty for just existing and using up oxygen lol
but please know that manyyy of us do want to interact too but they might be like me://

i think usually it depends on a writer! i do all my writing in a period of time where i lock in and just start writing until i finish a fic. sometimes it takes me a couple of days but i usually spend like those few hours writing. motivation and procrastination is an issue too lol and sometimes we like doing other things in between 💀💀
i think i speak for most writers though that i we do want people to send asks 🤗🤗 if someone doesn’t respond to a lot asks it’s either bc they don’t receive a lot of love or they have too many… 💀💀 but even with more popular authors half of their inbox is filled with “please update” or “did you die” which is nice to feel important and stuff but it gets annoying after a while 💀💀 sometimes you can always just ask too! but i think very rarely authors will hate it 🤭🤭
personally i love responding to asks. i’m chronically online and love to yap on this account even though i have a spam 💀💀

a very interesting event happens here with fic writers and smau writers that i'm really curious about. i always see a lot of fic writers here asking their followers to interact with them more and not only when they post fics, and when we see writers who write smaus, they always have millions of interactions (which is pretty fun and cool, thats not a complaint)!! do fanfic writers scare you?? ☹️☹️ i feel so bad when i see friends here asking for their followers to interact with them and there's just a few interactions (and then u see their works and it has a lot of attention) PLEASEEE THEY ARE NOT INTIMIDATING AT ALL IF THSTS THE CASE, THEY ALL FEEL SO HAPPY WHEN THRY GOT ASKS 🥺🥺

a lot of writers here are so prone to burnout and stop writing because of it. literally seen it happen to so many other writers.
luckily for me, even if followers don’t comment on a fic or reblog with some funny thoughts i at least have fellow writers and authors on here to yap about and share my thoughts with.

It was the kind of place where old memories lived, tucked between forgotten boxes and sun-faded photographs.
He could hear his grandson shuffling around up there, probably on some grand treasure hunt. The kid had an imagination as big as the sky, just like—
“Grandpa!” His voice rang out, excited and a little breathless. “I think I found something cool!”
He leaned back in his chair, waiting. Sure enough, a few moments later, a pair of small feet thundered down the attic steps, and his grandson appeared in the doorway, holding up a folded, yellowed piece of paper like he’d just discovered the meaning of life.
“It was in this old coat,” he said, plopping down onto the couch across from Mark. “Like, really old. It’s got a hole in the sleeve and everything.”
Mark chuckled, already knowing exactly which coat he meant. “That letter, huh?” He said, shaking his head fondly. “That’s the reason you exist, kid.”
His grandson’s eyes widened. “No way.”
“Yes way,” Mark said, nodding.
