I’m so excited for the @transthedasfest reveals today!!!!! My prompt was “NB/Trans Rook writes a letter to their LI before Tearstone Island in case they don’t make it back. The LI finds it and reads it while they are trapped in the Fade Prison.” I went for a Viago/Vero story.

When Lucanis leaves, he leaves behind an envelope. Viago turns it over in his hands, examining the seal – a coiled serpent, stamped into the dark wax by a ring that he knows well. He gave it to them, after all, this symbol of his House. Now it seems to mock him.

His name is written on the envelope’s other side in a neat script. Vero’s writing is familiar but not; it has changed in the last year. It still resembles his, but there is a flourish to the V that is new.

He has been sitting here for an hour, turning it over in his hands.

I hope whoever prompted this likes it! I’m honestly a bit nervous about this one, I’m not sure why. Vero is obviously non-binary but it’s not something they talk or even think about a whole lot, but I did want to have them at least touch on that identity in their letter.
