don’t be that guy who says fuck the police in the jury questionnaire! that just gets you sent home! if you want to generate change, interact with the case and use your jury vote for good! ESPECIALLY if it’s a high profile case!
Remember, when you're on the jury, a good "that cop's story didn't add up" will sway a lot more Chads and Karens than "fuck the police."
Everybody is joking about how episode one of Game Changer is just a lie detector test, and the latest episode was…that.
But I just watched Lie Detector and Sam says he thought it would be harder to get the players to admit private things like if they pee in pools, have shoplifted, or to share an embarrassing secret, but it wasn’t hard. They just all did it. For points.
Game Changer has an overarching plot and it’s all about Sam learning what his friends will do for an above industry standard pay check. And points.

I am reading Bartlett's Karluk account and the palpable competence is such a direct contrast to so many expeditions ("no, obviously we're not going to dynamite our way to the lead over there, that would not help and would in fact make things worse" is hilarious after having recently read about the Belgica). The bit where he is concerned about the type of ice floe that wrecked the Titanic made me go back and check the dates and that was a year before the Karluk sailed--figuring out the ways in which bits of history overlap always delights me. Also, I am losing over the chapter "Stefansson's Departure" coming at page 34.
Anyway I am having Karluk feelings and you seemed like the appropriate person to tell about them.

I am here to help you work through any and all Karluk feelings! I recently reread Bartlett’s Karluk account and the thing that strikes me in hindsight is how incredibly diplomatic he was. Knowing what I know about Bartlett’s temper, I’m surprised that he (or, rather, that Hale) managed to keep it in check as well as he did. I’m a pretty solid diplomat and peacekeeper and I genuinely don’t think I could do it! And yes, page 34 is objectively hilarious 😂
