Whatever. A Transdisciplinary Journal of Queer Theories and Studies, 2024
The essay analyzes some examples of the use of the male nude in photographic and performance works made in Italy between 1968 and 1974, starting from the hypothesis that merely departing from the norm-represented by the female nude-is already a noteworthy fact. Although, in some cases, the thematization of the androgyne resorts to the mythological and allegorical filter, the use of the male nude contributes in various ways to shaking gender clichés and traditional heterosexual binarism. What emerges is a potential area of tangency and overlap between the affirmative postures of the homosexual movement and a certain tendency to rethink masculinity, which is also being challenged in parallel by feminism.

The study examined the linguistic features and rhetorical devices utilised by political speakers to assert authority and influence public opinion; explored how power relations are constructed, negotiated, and challenged through the language of political discourse; and also analysed the role of context, audience, and medium in shaping the deployment of power within political speeches. These were with view to examining the mechanisms through which power is exercised, contested, and transformed within the realm of public discourse. Speeches were based on their relevance to the research topic and their potential to provide insights into power dynamics within political discourse. Additionally, supplementary materials such as scholarly articles, books, and theoretical frameworks on discourse analysis, linguistics, and political communication were consulted to inform the analytical approach and theoretical underpinnings of the study. These materials served as valuable resources for contextualising the research within existing literature and theoretical frameworks. The study employed critical discourse analysis (CDA), a theoretical and methodological approach that examines the relationship between language, power, and ideology within social and political contexts (Willey-Sthapit, Jen, Storer, & Bennett, 2022). Through a meticulous examination of speeches delivered by diverse political figures across different contexts and periods, the study elucidated the nuanced ways in which power relations are negotiated and enacted through language. The study has concluded that political speeches provide valuable insights into the complex interplay between language, power, and politics. The study recommended further research to explore the implications of power dynamics in political discourse for democratic governance, social justice, and public policy. Keywords: power dynamics, political discourse, political speeches, ideologies, and political narratives.

Emotional Intelligence (EI), is a soft skill and can be understood as the capacity to recognize, understand, manage, and utilize emotions positively of oneself and of teams. In contemporary times high-levels of Emotional Intelligence (EI) a characteristic associated with Transformational leadership has emerged as a pivotal factor in navigating interpersonal dynamics, enhancing motivation, building team cohesiveness and effectively resolving conflicts to create cohesive, collaborative workplaces. Through a comprehensive review, this paper explores how managers with transformational leadership having high Emotional Intelligence (EI) levels foster resilience, enhance communication, strengthen team dynamics and resolve conflict. It presents case studies from leading international well-known companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Johnson & Johnson that have adopted EI and how that has impacted their success. This paper aims to provide a nuanced understanding of how emotional intelligence can be leveraged to become a driving force for innovation and achievement of organisational success in modern day organisations.

Over the past century, the integration of earth science methods and concepts into archaeology has fundamentally changed the nature of archaeological inquiry to include studies that focus on archaeological site formation processes, landscape evolution, and human-environmental interactions. However, the development of geoarchaeology-the interdisciplinary field of earth science and archaeology was not an inevitability; rather, it was mediated through individuals and institutions. We attempt to isolate core institutional components that facilitated the integration of earth science and archaeology by discussing the development of a geoarchaeological research tradition outside a Western context. Here, we examine the historical trends and future prospects of geoarchaeological research in China. As archaeology becomes more global and diverse, understanding the factors that have historically combined the fields of earth science and archaeology is a necessary prerequisite for catalyzing interdisciplinary research. We argue that China's increasingly flexible research culture, greater access to scientific methods, and long history of international and interdisciplinary collaboration have contributed to the expansion of the geoarchaeological community. In conclusion, we suggest that * Michael J. Storozum
