Nowadays many organizations like education institutions, corporate houses and offices have adopted biometric attendance systems where attendance is recorded by putting your finger on a fingerprint sensor. These are then stored on the server to be used or analysed by the concerned authorities. Every organization whether it be an educational institution or business organization, it has to maintain a proper record of attendance of students or employees for effective functioning of organization. Designing an efficient attendance management system for students to maintain the records with ease and accuracy is an important key behind motivating this project. Nowadays attendance is taken on paper and records are maintained where someone keeps all the records and does all the calculations at the end of the month due to which it takes time and students have to wait till month end to know their attendance. This system would improve accuracy of attendance records because it will remove all the hassles of roll calling and will save valuable time of the students as well as teachers. Everything is possible in this new era with the Internet connection, which has made the entire world a tiny global village. Using the Internet and web services, people can access the information they need and connect with others through verbal conversation, instant messaging, email, etc. We propose an approach that can be implemented in various universities, schools, colleges, and organizations. With the support of Proposed Research, workers can be automatically tracked without any traditional approaches and at a fair price relative to systems already in place. The proposed research is focused on smart devices that are inclined to school representatives, organizations, where each smart device has a different MAC (physical) address. Students can be linked to the application via MAC address and results can finally be stored, and we can generate the report regularly or weekly or monthly. Our proposed system is divided into two parts; the first is a website that can be accessed via the program management main screen such as student data registration, adding the admin to the program, etc. The second component is a system work environment that is the Micro-controller (Raspberry Pi3) which runs the device 's main script. Finally, results can be automatically obtained based on the MAC address of the students. For some exceptional cases, we developed an Android application for the admin to update all information manually. The system can currently be operated on its own, and can also be part of other integrated systems.

In schools and colleges, lot of time is wasted for manual attendance procedures, in such cases our system provides an automated attendance marking system. Every student will be provided with a RFID tag/card with his/her details fed in it and everyone’s tag is unique to others. This data is stored in the tag by modulating and demodulating transmitted radio frequency signals with the help of a built in integrated circuit. As soon as a student places his/her card in front of the RFID reader, the data in it is read and attendance for that student will be registered. This is done with the help of a raspberry pi interfaced with the reader. We can view the attendance status for every student obtained from the excel sheet that is generated. Thus lot of time is saved in providing attendance.

There are many problems in this domain and one among them is "attendance system", which leads to a lot of time waste (probably 15-25% of the total period time), despite wasting this amount of time, many times there causes error in the final attendance sheet. Attendance report is the legal proof of the presence of the student at a particular place and thus this makes the correct attendance report to be mandatory at any circumstance. The project proposed in this paper deals with attendance data of students, which is directly stored on the cloud, and which doesn't waste any precious minute of students and professors by maintaining 100% accuracy of the attendance data, after completion of total procedure, the professor can access the attendance report at the last minute of the class.
