This paper presents students’ ability in reading toward TOEIC score. SQ3R method was used to improve LP3I students’ reading score in TOEIC test. In LP3I, students have to reach score 450 minimally as a consideration to conduct their final project and to be a job applicant when they are promoted by LP3I after they graduated from LP3I. The data were taken from students’ pretest and posttest of TOEIC test. Then, the data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman analysis. SQ3R method was implemented in order to guide students in reading a text by following some steps; survey, question, reading, review and recite. Through giving motivation and keeping practice using SQ3R, students would improve their reading score in TOEIC test. Keywords: TOEIC, SQ3R, and LP3I

The comprehension of reading texts and searching for information in texts requires methods in their implementation. One of the things that influences learning to read text is the information in the text and the student's reading method. The present study assessed and compared two different techniques for improving students reading achievement. Integrating SQ3R and Quiziz was compared to conventional SQ3R. Thirty one students of second grade SMA IT SMART INSANI participated in this study as experimental and control class. The instrument used in this study was reading test. The data of the research were collected through pre-test and post-test. The result showed that the integration of SQ3R and Quizizz in experimental class and conventional SQ3R in control class improved all the aspects of reading. The highest improve occurred in the aspects of identifying specific information and determining inference in experimental class and determining main idea aspect in control class. In general, the integration of SQ3R and Quizizz in experimental class gives better improvement in students reading achievement than conventional SQ3R. However, it was found that the significance level (2-tailed) was 0.126 higher than 0.05 that indicates there was no significant difference of students' reading achievement between experimental class and control class. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of Integrating SQ3R and Quizizz was better than conventional SQ3R to improve students reading achievement. The use of integration SQ3R and Quizizz significantly promoted students reading achievement.

Reading is one of the most important components of any language and it is an essential tool for long-life learning. The goal of reading is comprehension. In order to comprehend reading passage, students need to apply some methods to help them. This study aimed at improving students’ reading comprehension and motivation by using SQ3R method. SQ3R system has been used successfully for many years and the system has proven effective in increasing students’ retention. Student learning centres on a complex problem that does not have a single correct answer. Students work in collaborative groups to identify what they need to learn in order to improve their reading comprehension.. From the test, it was obtained that the lower score is 64 and the higher score is 88. The mean is 81.03. The data were obtained from the research by using SPSS. Overall, the results showed that students’ reading comprehension could be improved by using SQ3R method were identified.
Reading is one of the basic English skills which should be mastered by the students. This study was intended to explore the use of SQ3R technique to improve students`reading comprehension and to find out the students`perception toward the use of SQ3R technique. The method in this study is mixed method with Quan-qual model. The quantitative method used quasi-experimental design with control and experimental group. The population in this research used purposive sampling technique with the number of sample are 24 students as respondent; 12 students in control group and 12 students in experimental group. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Saluputti from the eighth grade students in academic year 2016/2017. The instrument that the writer used are reading test and questionnaire and the data were analyzed through SPSS 20. The research findings shows that the implementation of SQ3R technique could improve the students' reading comprehension ability especially the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Saluputti and the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Saluputti have good perception towards the use of SQ3R technique. This research shows the improvement in students`reading comprehension, for that reason, it is recommended that the English teacher apply certain effective technique in teaching reading to enhance student`s comprehension.

Reading is considered as one of the Basic English skills which should be mastered by the students. This study was intended to explain the effectiveness of SQ3R method to improve students' reading comprehension. The method in this study is quantitative research design. The quantitative method used quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research used purposive sampling technique with the number of sample are 20 students participant. This study was conducted at Palompon Institute of Technology from the Third Year Bachelor of Elementary students in academic year 2019-2020. The following findings were revealed: The reading comprehension level of the students exposed to SQ3R method before and after the intervention as to; Literal Meaning remained "very high" while that of Inferential Meaning and Evaluative Meaning was "high to very high." There was a significant difference on the reading comprehension of the students exposed to the SQ3R strategy. The research shows the implementation of SQ3R method improved the students' reading comprehension ability.

Reading is one of four English skills that important to be learned by students. In fact, Students are having difficulties in acquiring reading skill; they cannot understand the information from the text they read. Preliminary research confirmed this condition. Thus, it is highly important to apply SQ3R method that would improve students' reading skill. The research was carried out at SMP N 17 Depok. The aim of the research is to find out whether SQ3R method improves students' ability in reading comprehension or not. The research design used in this research is Quasi Experimental Research by using test, to find out the significant difference between recent technique and SQ3R method through the score pre-test and post-test. The researcher chose One Group Pre-test Post-test Design as one of quasi research models. This experiment was conducted to only one group without any control group. The population is all of the students of eighth grade at SMPN 17 Depok. As the sample, the researcher just takes one class that was 8-3 class.. The results of analysis in the research showed that implementing SQ3R method in students' reading descriptive is success.
