The number of small and large malls are increasing over the years. The malls are increasing because of the increase in population and demand of the general people. People purchase required items and go to the cashier for paying bill. Paying bill directly at the billing counter consumes a lot of time and it leads to large queue at the cashier. Shopping cart displays the total price of the product kept inside the cart and paves the way to directly pay the amount through the card given to customer. The hardware is based on Arduino Uno, RFID Reader Module, RFID Card. It eliminates the traditional scanning of products at the counter and in turn speeds up the entire process of shopping.

In the present era of socioeconomic development, technologies have been contributing not only for improving supply chain management, but also to enhance customer facilities and satisfactions. Now a days, shopping centers and city malls are the prime requirement of society, where customers get freedom to see, choose and collect items as per their requirements and convenience. These stores and malls are situated in metropolitan cities and easily approachable, which increases the rush at these places with a high rate, tends to long queue at billing counters. It also needs skilled workers to arrange items in shopping center, also guide about the shopping items to customers as well as at billing counter. The proposed system is a smart shopping cart, comprises RFID reader and on-board buttons as inputs, microcontroller-based Arduino board as data acquisition and control unit, and LCD display is as output unit. The smart cart detects items, then avails option to customer to add new shopping items in bill as well as remove already added items directly from bill. It also sends the final billing information to central server using Wi-Fi module. The developed flexible shopping system provides better informative system along with facility of automatic billing generation and record the information centrally. It also provides better functionality of shopping center, minimize requirement, and working load on shopping center employees.
The introduction of wireless technology along with other communication techniques has made people adopt e-commerce. A contemporary is to look forward to a product is one that aids the comfort, convenience and efficiency in everyday life. In this paper, we discuss an innovative concept of the Automatic shopping cart in which the customer need not have to wait in the queue for billing for hours in shopping malls. Billing will be done automatically as and when the product is added to the cart by using RFID and Arduino. Automatically amount will be deducted in case the customer chooses cancel/ remove the product from the cart.

The most valuable thing in today’s world is time, people are referring those things which consumes less time. Billing in Shopping mall takes lot of time. Billing of products from mall is quite difficult because it takes more time as people have to wait for a long time in a queue for billing. Shopping mall is a place where people buy the items according to their needs. We can see huge rush at the malls on weekends, festival days, offer days. People purchase the items according their needs and put them in trolley. After completion of purchases, one should go to billing counter for completion of payments. At the billing counter, the cashier prepares the bill using bar code scanner which causes long queues in the billing counters and wasting the customer’s precious time.
