XX. yüzyılda, Sovyetler Birliği’nde, Stalin’in yirmi dokuz yıllık iktidarı döneminde milyonlarca insan hayatını kaybetti.
İlk dönemlerde kadınlar aile içerisinde ve devlet meselelerinde erkeklerle neredeyse eşit haklara sahipken, Türkler’in İslamiyet’i kabulü ve İstanbul’un fethinden sonraki Hıristiyan kültürün kadın yorumu Türk kadınının sosyal statüsünü değişime uğratmıştır.

The subject of this article is related to conditions of the Syriac Kadim Patriarchate between 1847 and 1918 in Ottoman State. I referenced to the Ottoman State Annuals (Salname-i Devlet-i Aliye-i Osmaniye) issued 68 issues. The aim is to present the point of view to Kadim Syrians in Ottoman official publications. Separately, it is facilitate to be understood Kadim Syrians admitted as a different ‘nation (millet)’. Ottoman administrated non-muslims in accordance with the principle “keeping the pre-conquest structure”. İn the pre-conquest, Syrian Kadims in Ottoman territory have different hierarchy, but didn’t have any the center of church in İstanbul. İt have a center of church in Jerusalem, but were affiliated to the Armenian patriarchate in there. Mardin Deyru'z-Za'feran-based Syrians in 1783 asked to join the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul. This was the case in 1847. The Syrian Kadim Patriarchate was first associated with the Armenian Patriarchate in the 13th number (1275/1859), and this affiliation continued until the 40th number (1302 / 1884-85). Parallel to the Ottoman State Annuals in the 1890s, archival documents such as the patriarchal patronage of the Armenian nation or the Armenian patriarchate included the fact that Syriac Kadim Patriarchate was regarded as separate and independent. However, both the lack of a formal decision and as well as the regulations (Nizamname) works for which there is no evidence showing the conclusion in 1914 shows that the process of being a separate nation is not complete. The issue of working is the system of the non-Muslims of the Ottoman Empire and “the system of the nation” which is widely used in the recent period. The aim of the article is that the system of the Ottoman nation does not cover the entire Ottoman period, the practices of the nation system begin when entering the Tanzimat period, the Ottomans have not officially started the nation system by taking a political, social, legal and religious decision with a formal decision and gradually adopted and implemented their nation is to demonstrate that the “preservation of the pre-conquest situation”, which was in effect before the Tanzimat, was realized by trying to protect it. It is another objective to examine the example of the Ottoman State Annuals that the Syriac Kadim Patriarchate developed as a separate nation in parallel with the process of settlement of the nation system. Neither the Syriac Kadim Patriarch nor other independent church centers demanded that the relations with the Ottomans continue without intermediary. Therefore, their acceptance of separate nations has not been realized suddenly with an official decision. Each nation has its own separate process.
