Even though there are various security systems consuming large power are available in market nowadays,
robbery rate is very high. We are proposing a novel system to prevent robbery in highly secure areas with
lesser power consumption. This system has face-recognition technology which grants access to only
authorized people to enter that area. If others enter the place without access using some other means, then
the system alerts the security personnel and streams the video captured by the security camera. The facerecognition
is done using PCA algorithm. The video transmitted is compressed and transmitted by ENVMT.
By using this ENVMT, the video can play with lesser bandwidth consumption, latency and jitter.

MPEG stands for MOVING PICTURE EXPERTS GROUP is a standard for video and audio compression for eliminating the noisy signals from the transmitted signals from the satellite. Audio compression is a basic method defined under MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 which by coding techniques compress audio signals to filter out undesired signals.This paper focuses on the MPEG technology, need and coding technique for audio compression.

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is currently being prepared as the newest video coding standard of the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group. The main goal of the HEVC standardization effort is to enable significantly improved compression performance relative to existing standards-in the range of 50% bit-rate reduction for equal perceptual video quality. This paper provides an overview of the technical features and characteristics of the HEVC standard.

The traffic of digital images and video has grown rapidly in the internet. Security becomes important for several applications like military image database, confidential video conferencing. Real-time secure image and video communication is challenging due to the processing time and computational requirement for encryption and decryption. Also the speed of most internet connections is very limited so the amount of data to be transmitted must be reduced. In this research, we shall introduce partial encryption technique on compressed images and videos. Another algorithm decomposes images into several different parts. We apply encryption algorithm to encrypt only the crucial parts, which are considerably smaller than original image, which result in significant reduction in processing time and computational requirement for encryption and decryption as well as reduce the bit rate and bandwidth requirement.

To provide multimedia applications with new functionalities, such as content-based interactivity and scalability, the new video coding standard MPEG-4 relies on a content-based representation. This requires a prior decomposition of sequences into semantically meaningful, physical objects. We formulate this problem as one of separating foreground objects from the background based on motion information.

The demand for video communication over internet has been growing rapidly in recent years and the quality of video has become a challenging issue for video transmission. Different types of video coding standards like MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 have been developed to support application like video transmission. MPEG-2 which requires high bit rate transmission has been successful video standard for DVD and satellite digital broadcasting. On the other hand, MPEG-4 supports low bit rate and is suitable for transmitting video over IP networks. In this paper, MPEG-4 Video standard has been used for evaluating the performance of video transmission over two IP networks:- Best-effort and Quality of Service (QoS). For both of the best-effort and QoS IP networks, peak signal noise ratio (PSNR), throughput, frame and packet statistics have been considered as performance metrics. The calculated values of these performance metrics reflect that video transmission over QoS IP network is better than that of the best-effort network.

In this paper, we propose a new fractal-based face detection scheme in video stream by employing some related properties of video decoding in MPEG-4. According to the types of video frames, two different solutions are applied to face detection. Faces are extracted by estimating the fractal dimension of face areas and considering previous Groups of VOP (GOV) to exclude the non-face areas.

The oncoming prosperity of interactive multimedia application triggers significant challenge to current best-effort Internet because of the dynamic and unpredictable available bandwidth, end-to-end delay, and packet loss. Recently, overlay technique has emerged as an approach to help mitigating these problems. In order to understand the potential benefits of using multi-path provided by overlay network to interactive video, this paper examines the performance of two special multi-path deliver schemes - dual-path mesh and dual-path round robin, and compares their metrics of round-trip delay, packet loss, one-way delay jitter to the direct Internet path by analyzing 7 days of data collected from 102 geographically diverse PlanetLab nodes. By mapping the collected data with MPEG-4 coded "Foreman" video sequence, the paper also presents multi-path benefit on peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR).

Received video quality enhancement gained with the implementation of NEWPRED and UEP mechanism is discussed in this paper. Selection of these two methods is justified with details of their implementation. Several MPEG-4 video test bit-streams are transmitted over simulated UMTS environment. Performance enhancement over various channel propagation conditions as standardized by 3GPP for conformance testing in is quantified. Objective video quality assessment is done using standard PSNR metric while near subjective assessment is obtained using Video Quality Metric (VQM) utility. It is observed that in all propagation conditions simulated, implementation of proposed error concealment and mitigation techniques provide considerable improvements in both subjective and objective video quality.

O desempenho das redes de comunicação tem evoluído, e isso tem permitido a implementação de novos serviços que foram originalmente desenvolvidos para outros tipos de redes. Esse advent o é usualmente chamado de convergência de redes, ou, convergência tecnológica e o resultado disso pode ser uma significante economia em infraestrutura, desenvolvimento, suporte e custos de gerenciamento. Nesse contexto, este trabalho descreve um conjunto d e mecanismos de encapsulamento para integração de serviços existentes em redes IP e MPEG. São detalhados os mecanismos de transporte de fluxos MPEG - 2 e MPEG - 4 através de datagramas IP, assim como detalhados maneiras de datagramas IP serem transportados atr avés de redes MPEG.
