Malignant Narcissism

The narcissistic ego continuously urges us to become addicted to various kinds of false cravings, often for unhealthy, unwholesome, toxic, substances, attitudes, and habits, as a way of escaping from a deeper, but unreal, sense of basic deficiency, inner emptiness, and fearful insecurity, which the ego tries to cover over by superimposing a distracting false façade of artificial pleasurable sensations and self-definitions, which can become rather grandiose and unrealistic, sometimes accompanied by destructively demonic energies and rather insane urges in the most extreme forms of selfish egoism. These various forms of ego-gratification are basically designed to provide quasi substitutes for the natural, genuine euphoria, excitement, vitality, security, wellbeing, and divine grandeur, that are intrinsic to our real being, and only imitated by the various intense, often addictive, compulsive, unhealthy, unwholesome, conditionally acquired, readily lost, sensations, substances, habits, and attitudes that the narcissistic ego or separate sense of self-awareness urges us to pursue.

The purpose of the present research was to improve the reliability and item content of the recently popular Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale (HSNS; Hendin & Cheek, 1997) by expanding it into a more complete measure of maladaptive covert narcissism. In an Amazon Mechanical Turk survey of 420 adults, the 23-item expanded version of the Maladaptive Covert Narcissism Scale (MCNS) had an alpha reliability of .89 compared to .75 for the original HSNS. Overall, the present results indicate that the new scale represents a significant improvement in the assessment of maladaptive covert narcissism.

It outlines the various "knife-edge" defenses the infant mind must struggle with in the face of the emotional impact of the mother's beauty, particularly when there is no absolute guarantee of this being reciprocated.
An attempt is made to disambiguate this vulnerability from those which call into play defenses against (Kleinian) unconscious envy.

One aspect of Narcissism, not usually emphasized, is the lack of conscious awareness of one's rejection of love and beauty when offered by another.
Instead, the narcissist remains almost totally merely conscious of his or her own feelings of being rejected, especially aesthetically.

We all know one. Those armoured cockroach narcissists that can survive anything. It is said that cockroaches are some of the most adaptable creatures on earth. They are in-vulnerable survivors. But at what, and who’s cost? The costs and burdens of being ‘used up’ by narcissists, in their entitled need for never ending supply, are carried by the common or garden everyday creatures called Human Beings. It’s the humanness in us that makes us vulnerable. We feel, we have compassion, we can empathise and we have a natural instinct to support and protect others. We see this mechanism of care operational throughout the animal kingdom. Gabor Mate says it is a disservice to call someone a rat as rats are very empathic creatures and will support their kin. Paradoxically the narcissist will “rat out” their fellow man and expose them to undeserved punishment. All with the aim of their own embellishment and fuelling of omnipotence.

Malian/ Mauritanian director Abderrahmane Sissako is one of the most acclaimed and well-known film directors in Africa, particularly francophone Africa.  His films, including La Vie sur terre / Life on Earth (1998), Heremakono (2002), and Bamako (2006), are among the most widely distributed African films in Europe, the UK, and North America, and Timbuktu (2014), his most recent film, is one of the most fêted and also one of the highest grossing African films of all time.  Discussions of the film have focused on its rejection of Salafism and its critiques of the effects of Jihadism on Africans and other Muslims.  However, as with all of Sissako’s films, the surface level meaning is the shallowest, with the film’s real concerns not directly depicted, but alluded to through the events in the main narrative.
At the core, Timbuktu is a story of the disparities in mobility produced by globalization, and ecology is central to the arguments about mobility put forward in the film.  My paper is an exploration of the way ecology—and specifically the issues of climate change and access to land—underpin the narrative about Jihadism in Timbuktu.  I will point, for example, to the fact that the film’s most developed subplot, which concerns Kidane (Ibrahim Ahmed), a Tuareg herdsman, who gets into a fight with Amadou (Omar Haidara), a fisherman, is understandable only by taking into account realities that are not represented, but whose existence the depicted events imply.  The centrality of water, land, and access to the dispute between Kidana and Amadou points to a number of ecological issues that are not dealt with directly in the film, but that are the root causes of the events that unfold within it.  The conflict over access water in the dispute between Kidane and Amadou, for example points to climate change and the expansion of the Sahara that are due, in the opinion of credible climate scientists, to the global warming effect created by the industrial and commercial pollution of the countries of the Global North.  Therefore, without ever directly raising the question, Timbuktu suggests that the mobility (cars being primary contributors to global warming) and prosperity of the Global North functions to limit the mobility and prosperity of the inhabitants of Mali and the Global South.

Ross Rosenberg, author of the Human Magnet Syndrome: Why We Love People Who Hurt Us, explains why codependents and narcissists are highly compatible in a relationship.  By use of a dance/dancing metaphor he creates an understanding of the reflexive but unconscious attraction dynamic.

This paper explores the relationship between covertly narcissistic parents and their adult children. Adult children of covert narcissists share many of the same behavioral characteristics, namely codependency, that adult children of alcoholics display, without a history of physical, sexual, or substance abuse in their family of origin. There is very little research about narcissistic parenting, narcissistic family systems, or the effects that this disorder may have on children. Of further concern is the fact that adult children who do seek therapy are often misdiagnosed with a variety of personality disorders or clinical syndromes. This paper examines the personality traits of covert narcissism and codependency in adult children who grew up in narcissistic family systems. A case is also made for the development of a workbook specifically written and designed to apply this information, through a series of assessments and exercises, which will assist individuals struggling to heal from this subtle form of child abuse.

An overview of the mind control technique with regard to targeting the human population gender archetype is presented. It is explicated that the negative aliens are very well apprised of the energetic gender polarity as a prerequisite of Organic Solar Consciousness Creation, and in particular, exploit it the fullest with regard to the higher sentient human beings. In this respect, via specially designed holographic inserts, they have managed to create two contrasting archetypes mind control programming that include male archetype that actually closely follow the 'patriarchal domination' dogma of their fully male-dominated hierarchical society of beings, in which their male gender is revered as strong, violent, brawny, tyrannical, war-loving, narcissistic faction of their society, fully 'entitled' to suppress-oppress others, including their own females with highly misogynistic conducts, and Female Seductress Archetype. More specifically, they regard the female gender as weak and shameful and good for nothing, except may be to have violet sex with or used for breeding. In fact, many negative aliens species have even totally annihilated their female gender counterpart through a choice of their own or as a result of being subjugated to other tyrants of higher hierarchical factions as their conquerors, captors, and masters, who have taken away their women for sexual slavery. Thus, they resort to cloning and other artificial means such as droning and cybernetics to propagate their species. And, the second gender archetype epitomizes a female seductress.

This paper concludes our discussion of narcissistic-psychopathic manipulators in service to self only who masquerade as tyrants who do not appreciate the first thing regarding the acumen of effective leadership. In this respect, leadership should not, and in fact could not, ever be mistaken with tyranny. A tyrant is a delusional self-important individual who sees himself-herself above all others, who is often predominately concerned about his-her own wants, needs, and desires. In this respect, a narcissistic-psychopathic manipulator and want-to-be controller is in service to self only, while a true leader considers himself-herself as the SERVANT to God and humanity, which is very much in line with the provisions of the Law of One, that he-she reveres, and always devoutly practices, advocates, and promotes. In the discourse which is to follow, the idea of leadership is examined and discussed, making a clear distinction between leadership and tyranny by shedding light on the characteristics of a true leader. The typical nature of tyrannous narcissists-psychopaths was discussed in part I of the paper, while Part II concentrated on the issue of emotional manipulations and all its implications. In the present manuscript, the nature of effectiveness or competence of a true leader is addressed, while emphasizing that a narcissistic-psychopathic tyrant and manipulator/controller-want-to-be always has a delusional perception of self-perfectionism, which hardly qualifies such an individual as a true and effective leader. Furthermore, these individuals often have such a low morale and work ethics that instead of shining as a beacon of light and a role model, they often stoop down to blaming others for their faults or faulty performances, while mostly blatantly refuse doing the majority of the work themselves, delusionally perceiving themselves to be superior to others, and quickly getting tired of completing or doing the work themselves that they perceive to be below their station, by literally dumping it on others, but often use others as scapegoats to fulfil their personal agendas. Finally, some worthy advice is rendered about not ever indulging in self-destructive conducts by negating self-responsibility that may lead to the siphoning of your loosh by the negative aliens controllers who often use these individuals as proxies to ultimately get what they want, which is your precious organic energies. Remember that these are ‘fallen’ soulless entities who are completely disconnected from God and ITS open loop of free energetics, who desperately depend on your organic energies to survive. But, note that their harvesting campaign becomes ineffective when one is spiritually awakened and enlightened as to take self-responsibility to preserve one’s Right of Single Soul Occupancy, Free Will and Sovereignty. The Unity Consciousness, Interconnectedness, Compassion, Empathy, and SERVICE TO OTHERS provisions of the Law of One assert that a truly effective leader must show respect for all his-her constituents, and indeed, should honor all humans as well as other living things instead of tyrannously seek to emotionally manipulate and control or humiliate them. And, with this auspicious time of pre-Ascension we have the opportunity to finally consciously do meaningful (spiritual) work, by effectively lead others towards their attaining expanded consciousness.

Pathological narcissism is an addiction to Narcissistic Supply, the narcissist's drug of choice. It is, therefore, not surprising that other addictive and reckless behaviours – workaholism, alcoholism, drug abuse, pathological gambling, compulsory shopping, or reckless driving – piggyback on this primary dependence.

The narcissist – like other types of addicts – derives pleasure from these exploits. But they also sustain and enhance his grandiose fantasies as "unique", "superior", "entitled", and "chosen". They place him above the laws and pressures of the mundane and away from the humiliating and sobering demands of reality. They render him the centre of attention – but also place him in "splendid isolation" from the madding and inferior crowd.

Such compulsory and wild pursuits provide a psychological exoskeleton. They are a substitute to quotidian existence. They afford the narcissist with an agenda, with timetables, goals, and faux achievements. The narcissist – the adrenaline junkie – feels that he is in control, alert, excited, and vital. He does not regard his condition as dependence. The narcissist firmly believes that he is in charge of his addiction, that he can quit at will and on short notice.

The narcissist denies his cravings for fear of "losing face" and subverting the flawless, perfect, immaculate, and omnipotent image he projects. When caught red handed, the narcissist underestimates, rationalises, or intellectualises his addictive and reckless behaviours – converting them into an integral part of his grandiose and fantastic False Self.

Being based upon a real experience that serves as a good case study, this manuscript concentrates on the psychopathy of a group of individuals who suffer from hurt ego emanating from deep sense of self-inadequacy and lack of self-esteem perceiving themselves as the ones who have never amounted to anything significant during their present course of incarnation, as well as being grossly inundated by negative karma arising from past or parallel lives that has left its scars, afflicting them with a dire case of psychosis-neurosis. Such individuals are often plagued with entropic energies, having developed a deep sense of contempt for their fellow humans, who see everyone in “dirty diapers,” but of course, excluding themselves. Accordingly, such individuals are highly apathetic or lack true empathy for their fellow humans, often behaving egotistically and narcissistically, and seeing themselves and their needs above all others as well as masquerading as “leaders” among a group, while engaging in manipulating and controlling others to get what they want.  And, such a contempt for humanity is particularly evident nowadays as the present course of pre-Ascension movement has left its adverse mark on these individuals who are not adequately spiritually awakened or enlightened, being still deeply plagued by a sense of judgementality regarding “others,” defying the very underlying requisite principle of the Ascension movement. Namely, Ascension can only be successfully achieved upon developing reverence for the Cosmic Law of One while ardently engaging in exercising and advocating the provisions of ‘the Law’ whose foundation is based on interconnectedness and Unity Consciousness. Thus, as conflicting of a strategy and principle it may seem to be contrary to the provision of Interconnectedness and Unity Consciousness of the Law of one, it is crucial that one lays out a clear boundary for them, even indulging in altogether quarantining oneself from such individuals. And, as manipulative as these people are, they will only proceed to break one’s heart with regard to all the loving heartfelt treatments and provisions one may have bestowed upon them by allowing them to be too close that only proves to be futile in the long run in terms of one’s time and energetics already expended. Finally, when it culminates in such individuals being unsuccessful to carry out their initial agendas and obtain what they have always wanted, they become disgruntled to seek other weak-minded individuals to do what they do best that is manipulating and controlling them by a way of poisoning and derailing them from their already ongoing spiritual path in order to find some degree of comfort and short lived inner peace for themselves. It is also particularly amusing that such individuals are often so vain as to perceive physical looks or strength as a prowess attribute that gives them comfort, often considering themselves to be superior to others while they indulge in humiliating and looking down on others. Thus, the last thing you want to do is to avoid an otherwise benevolent act of ever giving any compliment to them about their physical attributes that would be in the hope of helping them alleviate their sense of lack of self-esteem, which would only intensify their sense of narcissism-elitism that would be akin to pouring fuel on a fire that is already raging within them.

Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist. Granted, only a qualified mental health diagnostician can determine whether someone suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and this, following lengthy tests and personal interviews. Read the Disclaimer below. But, in the absence of access to Barack Obama, one has to rely on his overt performance and on testimonies by his closest, nearest and dearest.

Narcissistic leaders are nefarious and their effects pernicious. They are subtle, refined, socially-adept, manipulative, possessed of thespian skills, and convincing. Both types equally lack empathy and are ruthless and relentless or driven.

This manuscript is part 1 of a 3-part study that concentrates on a group of people who have been afflicted with genetic negative karma experienced in their past-parallel lives, as well as similar experiences they have accumulated during their present course of incarnation, that have created severe negative ego pathologies manifested in them, expressing themselves and experiencing their lives as narcissists and/or psychopaths. These individuals often have negative aliens AI technology implanted in them who commonly suffer from parasitic-vampiric energetic attacks and feedings by the negative aliens, be it through their devastating inner Shadow Selves. The result of the ensuing discussion has been inspired, identified, and verified through the author actually having been compassionately observing or witnessing such individuals, that although initially disturbing and discomforting, provided a great and fruitful case study to seek further researching, analyzing, and discerning the problems with such individuals, whose results are presented, herein, together with its two companion published papers for the benefit of the public at large. Narcissism and psychopathy constitute, respectively, the second and third most severe stages of negative egotistic behavior or insanity, often plaguing an individual with psychosis-neurosis that needs to be therapeutically dealt with using cleaning-cleansing of such negative entropic karmic energies, that although often the person is aware of their existence, blatantly refuses to go about it the proper way effectuating their own healing. Instead, they continue indulging in such negative egotistic impulses as anger, hatred, seeking conflict with others. In this respect, the assailant often refuses to properly look WITHIN and using constructive full mindfulness and critical thinking and behaviors alleviating the source of the problem. Instead, by adopting a variety of pathological venues that each represent one or more aspects of soul fracture or fragmentation such as splitting, transference, compartmentalization, etc., these individuals commonly resort to ineffective schemes to temporarily find an easy way in order to comfort themselves. Accordingly, it turns out that this way they manage to deny the root of the problem, which in fact, in most cases exacerbate the issue at hand through their inherent delusional notion of self-superiority, which in reality, emanates from their sense of self-inferiority, self-insecurity, and lack of self-confidence. A narcissist-psychopath commonly resorts to manipulation and controlling of others to assert themselves. While the issue of manipulation and control has been addressed in a companion paper, this manuscript provides a rather detailed discourse regarding the exact description of narcissistic-psychopathic tyrants, including their characteristics, their possible motivations, how to identifying them, and finally how to respond to them. Additionally, a significant issue with these individuals regarding how they go about reducing their inherent anxieties and fears has been discussed. As for the case of effective leadership versus what tyrants seek to accomplish for themselves through service to self only, the discussion has been presented in another companion paper.

Narcizam (nezdravi, jer može postojati i zdrav narcizam) je pokušaj da izlečimo svoj „kompleks niže vrednosti“ ili bezvrednosti, gradeći „kompleks više vrednosti“. U srži narcizma je samoprezir, dubok osećaj da ne vredimo, da nismo važni, da smo loši, inferiorni u nečemu. To je veoma bolno stanje i čovek pokušava da izađe iz njega na različite načine, koristeći raznorazne raspoložive mehanizme odbrane. Te odbrane koje koristimo da bi se odbranili od osećanja inferiornosti, nevažnosti, bezvrednosti...često nas skuplje koštaju nego ono od čega nas brane. Ako bi se čovek suočio sa svojim osećanjem bezvrednosti, ili niže vrednosti, mogao bi i da ga, uz dosta rada na sebi, prevaziđe. Sujeta je skupa stvar. Ona izvire iz osećaja bezvrednosti. Troši puno energije čoveka, kvari njegove odnose sa drugim ljudima, prevodi ga „žednog preko vode“. Paradoks sa sujetom-narcizmom kao mehanizmom odbrane je u tome što, umesto da izleči osećaj niže vrednosti, ona ga pojačava.

Se convertirá en el adorado líder de un grupo descontento que busca reconocimiento en un mundo poblado de "enemigos". Empleará racionalizaciones teológicas convincentes para herir de forma gratuita y sádica a los enemigos de su agenda "divina". Sus seguidores continuarán apostando por él. Su grandiosidad lo llevará a pensar que la Providencia le ha otorgado el don de ser incapaz de cometer errores. Bajo una salvaje confianza propia, se involucrará en todo tipo de actos delictivos (sexual, económicos…) y se mostrará paranoico y enfurecido a cuando sea llamado a rendir cuentas. Para preservar su imagen y evitar la responsabilidad, culpará a antiguos aliados, escapará o se suicidará.

The narcissistic or psychopathic leader is the culmination and reification of his period, culture, and civilization. He is likely to rise to prominence in narcissistic societies. The leader’s mental health pathologies resonate with the anomies of his society and culture (“psychopathological resonance”.) The leader and the led form a self-enhancing and self-reinforcing feedback loop, a dyad of mirrored adoration and reflected love. By elevating and idealizing their “Fuehrer”, the mob actually elevates and idealizes itself and the leader’s harnessed ochlocracy; in the “Duce’s” ascendance they find hope, in his manifest illness – curative solace and a legitimation of their own collective insanity. The dictator himself equates being elected – however patently unfairly – with being chosen by the transcendental forces of the gods and history. His is a manifest destiny, his exceptionalism - the nation’s own.

Da li nam društvo nameće ideju da je to JEDINI način kako bi bili vredni pažnje, poštovanja, ljubavi… Pokušaću pre svega da pomognem čitaocima da shvate kako dolazi do tog stanja. Onda ću pokušati da razdvojimo zdravi narcizam od nezdravog, kao i narcizam od psihopatije. Na kraju ćemo govoriti o tome kako se narcisi ponašaju u raznim društvenim ulogama. Šta je i kako nastaje narcizam? Postoje različiti pristupi u definisanju i opisivanju narcizma koji potiču od različitih teorija ličnosti. Ovom prilikom ću opisati psihoanalitički pristup istom jer su se psihoanalitičari poprilično detaljno i studiozno bavili ovim fenomenom. Prema njihovoj teoriji, " oštećenje " koje izaziva ovo stanje nalazi svoje korene u najranijem detinjstvu. Naime, u prvoj godini života, beba je potpuno zavisna od mame i nema sposobnost da " razdvoji " nju kao posebnu ličnost, već je ona samo produžetak njenih potreba. Već u drugoj godini, beba počinje da razume da je mama odvojena osoba koja ima i druge funkcije, osim da zadovoljava njene potrebe. To nije lako saznanje i da bi se prihvatilo i prevazišlo, potrebna je podrška, ljubav i razumevanje od strane mame. Počinju pokušaji bebe da se odvoji od mame i istražuje svet samostalno, ali istovremeno ima snažnu potrebu da ZNA da je mama tu ukoliko se uplaši i poželi da se vrati u njen sigurni zagrljaj. Nedostupne mame (najčešće depresivne ili uplašene) nisu sposobne da prihvate dete nazad i time šalju poruku da ga " više ne vole ". Naravno, to je način na koji dete doživljava ono što se dešava. Takva deca u pubertetu razvijaju narcisoidnost kao " odbranu " od bolne ideje da su ostavljeni, nemaju nikakvu vrednost i potrebna im je (isključivo) spoljašna potvrda da vrede. In a framework of multidisciplinary approach, it is tackled the coincidence of certain gestures of Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler as representatives of the prototype of authoritarian leaders of different times, orientations and idiosyncrasies, but sharing a common magnetism among his followers that suggests a certain personal ability in the manipulation of them. The concrete gesture has been chosen for being extremely infrequent among the type of "alpha male", having to resort to different types of arts to find it among men, being very natural among women. Psychophysiological readings of EDA and ECG are made to subjects exposed to different images of that gesture, finding that the response patterns to the authoritarian gesture differ from those found in the arts, suggesting to continue the
investigation, oriented to the knowledge of ways of manipulation of vulnerable sectors of the population.

Pathological narcissism is a life-long pattern of traits and behaviours which signify infatuation and obsession with one's self to the exclusion of all others and the egotistic and ruthless pursuit of one's gratification, dominance, and ambition.
As distinct from healthy narcissism, which we all possess, pathological narcissism is maladaptive, rigid, persisting, and causes significant distress and functional impairment.

The idea that the self-overvaluation characteristic of narcissism can be directed either overtly toward the public self (ego) or covertly toward the privately idealized self-image (ego ideal) was first discussed in the 1920s (e.g., Ellis, 1927). The more recent designation of these two faces of narcissism as Grandiosity-Exhibitionism (overt) and Vulnerability-Sensitivity (covert) by Wink (1991) finally has become accepted in contemporary personality and social psychological research (e.g., Miller et al., 2011). Researchers have tended to focus on what divides or distinguishes these two faces of narcissism (e.g., Krizan & Johar, 2012), and the extent of such distinctions now raises questions about what connects overt and covert narcissism as aspects of the same psychological construct and is covert “really” a form of narcissism? In two studies (total N = 595) we found answers in strong positive correlations between both overt and covert narcissism and measures of entitlement rage and grandiose fantasies.

The traditional architecture of Central Asia and the Middle East is the product of land, the local climate, and people’s culture. The human needs and the environment represented the most essential factors to be considered in their designs. The traditional and vernacular architecture of this region introduced many realistic solutions and devices to the local environmental problems such as the Wind-catcher, which became a common architectural feature in buildings. The wind-catcher is based on a traditional Persian architectural device, which was used to create natural ventilation in buildings. Since the energy crisis of the 1970s, the ecological or sustainable architecture movement dominated architect’s thoughts of realising buildings that are environmentally relevant to their regions. In recent decades, there has been an increasing awareness of these traditional environmental devices and their potential for possible future buildings. However, traditional and vernacular architecture, which considered the human needs and the environment, provided many realistic solutions to the more recent modern environmental problems. This paper demonstrates the value of wind-catchers and provides insight into the application of natural ventilation systems as an alternative to the inappropriate modern cooling system in hot-climate regions. It also aims to examine the theoretical status of wind-catchers and to identify its specific nature, its use and its function in the context of architectural practice and discourse, in the past, present and future.

Group narcissism denotes the pathological version of the way in which individuals mirror themselves in a group, often associated with an idealized person. It comes to expression in religious or political extremism and in the celebrity media machine. The notions of a 'healthy narcissism' and a 'natural narcissistic spectrum' are criticized. The causes of narcissism are discussed.

Literatura obiluje radovima i člancima koji se bave posledicama neuspeha internalizacije, povećanja separacione anksioznosti i drugim kliničkim pokazateljima koji ukazuju na sledeće: da spajanje i sinteza slika dobrog i lošeg objekta i selfa nisu postignuti (nije uspostavljena celovitost objekta); da su ego-filtrirani afekti postali preplavljeni suvišnom neneutralizovanom agresijom (neutralizacija, kao sposobnost, nije razvijena); da su iluzije omnipotencije (svemoći) preokrenute u krajnju zavisnost i samooklevanje (nerazvijena konstantnost objekta); da je slika sopstvenog tela postala ili ostala preplavljena seksualnim nagonom i agresivnošću povezanim sa idom, skrivenim telesnim doţivljajima usled nemogućstva neutralizacije itd. Nemogućnost internalizacije ugaĎajuće konstantne majke je povezana sa manjkavošću u integraciji ega. Niska frustraciona tolerancija i kontrola impulsa, krhko samopoštovanje i agresivnost koja nije neutralizovana, predisponiraju osobu za ozbiljne sado-mazohističke sklonosti i izlive besa .

British psychoanalyst D. W. Winnicott (1896-1971) developed an original theory involving controversial ideas such as the destruction of the patient and the merger of the subjective and objective worlds into a whole. He argued that C. G. Jung suffered from a severe pathology, which affected his theoretical outlook. This article argues to the contrary: Winnicott’s own theory displays a narcissistic kind of structure. His dream appears to be an unconscious reaction against an unsupportable conscious attitude. Winnicott is much concerned with how to defend against patients and their invasive pathology. It functions as a system of defence for the psychologically weak therapist; an attitude that is harmful to patients. The article contributes to the understanding of narcissism.

En el presente artículo se hace un análisis teórico desde el discurso de Freud acerca de las vicisitudes de las posiciones subjetivas del odio insertadas en dinámicas de intolerancia a la alteridad y a la diferencia. El método utilizado fue la revisión teórica documental y la <desconstrucción> de los textos como apertura de sentido, haciendo un recorrido por la obra de Freud, así como por otros referentes del pensamiento psicoanalítico. El objetivo consiste en analizar las incidencias del odio como problemática de actualidad, enlazando al psicoanálisis con las dimensiones sociales y culturales. Como resultado se puede revelar el papel fundante del odio en las relaciones con la alteridad inserta en el mundo exterior y se vislumbra la ilusoria alteridad amable del narcisismo. Así como se detectan los efectos delirantes del rechazo de la identidad amorosa homosexual. Se concluye el despliegue de la diferencia como riesgo y amenaza al narcisismo de la posición fálica o del amor de sí, mostrando un escenario del odio a las pequeñas diferencias, bajo el moldeamiento de un estado de suspicacia feroz volcado en una postura de intransigencia que se extiende desde el mítico padre primordial hasta el Dios celoso de su unicidad.

The development of the relation between the child and the parent is extremely important. This relationship is what forms the child’s personality. In order for this development be successful for the child, some important criteria must be met. Lets look at 10 of these traits.

Charisma is best understood as an intersubjective phenomenon irreducible to individual psychology, though to some extent the phenomena of charisma and narcissism overlap. From its earliest stipulation by St. Paul as a gift of grace to Weber's (1922, 1946, 1968) seminal work on charismatic authority and its inevitable routinization, the concept has evolved into a more nuanced construct that can be useful in formulating leadership/followership dynamics. Via a case vignette, the author illustrates how charismatic organization functions in the clinical situation. Linking Weber's work on enthusiasm to Bion's (1958) stipulation of arrogance and stupidity, he shows how the concept of charismatic organization bridges recent social science research and psychoanalytic understanding and provides a way of relating certain clinical phenomena to events on the larger sociopolitical stage.

When he announced the profits of his memoirs would be donated to Iraqi orphans? When he ridiculed that one million protesters were somewhat irrelevant [19]? When he toured like a pop-star with his Middle East peace convoy – the very region he had brutalized? Remember when he congratulated himself on his supernatural traits such as "absorbing other people's pain" [20]? Or when he got exposed as dickhead and religious fundamentalist by the brilliant Christopher Hitchens during 'The God Debate' [21]?

Blair must have become the most hated man on the planet, the synonym for a political psychopath [22], a textbook case for students of criminology and psychology [23], and, yes, an internet meme of taunt and sneer [24; 25; 26; 27; 28]. The Daily Mail published a piece: 'Impeach Tony Blair' [29]. He is guilty of crimes against humanity; there is no doubt about it.

At times it appears that the most savage critics would back off (just a little bit), perhaps, if only Blair had produced something of a confession; that he did what he did because he could, that war is profitable, that Iraqi casualties are lamentable but ultimately irrelevant, that Muslims are tolerable as long as they agree to live in the year 2014 of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that the disintegration of the Middle East (and Russia, Iran, and China) is necessary for rebuilding it in the West 's image. To their disappointment, however, his autobiography wasn't exactly a 'Mein Kampf.'

They used to say that Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union were the great losers of the 20th Century, but that's just convenient Anglophone propaganda. The truth is the collapse of the British Empire – the largest in history – was a far more significant crash (some cynics say, only London is left).

For it is when a nation endured great pain and humiliation, and when its people have lost their way, that great seducers promise spiritual relief: "We have to liberate ourselves from the notion that 'we' have caused this. We haven't [30]." I rest my case.

The Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale (HSNS; Hendin & Cheek, 1997) has become widely used as a measure of covert, vulnerable narcissism. In the original scale construction article, the 10 items were interpreted as forming a single factor based on loadings on the first unrotated factor. More recently, however, researchers studying an Italian translation of the HSNS interpreted a two-factor structure for the 10-item scale (Fossati et al., 2009). The purpose of the present research was to explore the factor structure of the HSNS in two large English language samples (total N = 28,791). Statistical tests for the number of factors to rotate indicated two factors for both of these samples. The two subscales of the HSNS identified in the present research, Self-Absorption and Hypersensitivity, are conceptually similar to the two Italian components obtained in two samples by Fossati et al. (2009; Egocentrism and Oversensitivity to Judgement). We conclude that these two components should be explored further in ongoing work on revising and expanding the original 10-item HSNS.
