Problems cannot be solved at the same level of consciousness that created them! Albert Einestine Through this paper the researcher is attempting to initiate a dialogue on facilitating each student of the school to arrive at the apex of their potential and constantly be able to redefine their ways and means for contributing towards a harmonious social environment. It is a well known fact for all of us that the existing school conditions and resources are insufficient for both – the school teachers and the teacher educators. And we in academia need to reflect upon how each student can be served the best even before our budget allocation is multiplied manifolds and a lot of material resources are arranged for. But for that we probably need to convince ourselves as to why it is important for each student to bloom? It may be understood in the light of student " s right as well as societal responsibility and the nation " s duty. Effective democracy is anyways a joint responsibility of all the agencies participating in it. However herein the focus would be the challenges faced by the teachers and teacher educators in understanding the criticality of their role in the entire scenario in general and with specific reference to the student from disadvantaged strata of the society. The paper endeavors to provide some suggestions about how these challenges can be converted into enhanced opportunities for enriching the educational experience of each of the student in a regular school.

Abstract : Substance dependence, like eating disorders, can be seen as a means whereby individuals attempt to satisfy their most intimate needs by themselves. Paradoxically, dependence then appears as a consequence of a frantic pursuit of independence from others, thesubstance in question being a substitute through which individuals attempt to wean themselves off from relationships. Instead of trying to become autonomous from the family context that met their initial needs by developing other types of intimate relationships, they remain tangled up in a « nurturing » logic : addiction corresponds to an unrelenting refusal to be « nourished » by anyone but oneself. This situation is reinforced when, as a result of historical contexts of cultural domination, parents are themselves dependent on welfare.

Streszczenie Artykuł jest pogłębioną analizą form protestu związanych z Reformacją. W trzech częściach najpierw omawia trzy główne formy protestu związa-ne z Marcinem Lutrem, skupione wokół metaforycznych przedstawień Lutra jako fi lozofa z młotkiem, Lutra jako umacniającego swoje stanowisko w walce oraz Lutra obwieszczającego wolność chrześcijanina. Wszystkie te metaforyczne reprezentacje ujawniają zerwanie więzi z tradycją i teraź-niejszością oraz akcentują wartości związane z protestantyzmem, takie jak indywidualizm, wolność sumienia, wolność słowa czy autonomia i niepod-ległość podmiotu. Następnie w artykule opisane są radykalne formy protestu w szeroko rozumianej Reformacji związane z aktami palenia dokumentów i książek oraz demonizowaniem przeciwnika w satyrycznych przerysowa-niach na rycinach i obrazach. W drugiej części artykułu omawiam obecną w projekcie reformacyjnym wizję, którą streścić można metaforycznie w zawołaniu: "bliżej człowieka". Tę wizję próbuję pokazać wskazując na zarys teorii języka i przekładu zaprezen-towany w "Liście o przekładzie" Lutra z 1530 r. Ta wizja ujawnia się poprzez wyraziste empatyczne wychylenie ku zwykłemu użytkownikowi języka.

An “emotional vitamin” is a metaphor for interpersonal and emotional “sustenance” that is given to children by their parents in order to promote healthy psychological and social development.  The most important of all the metaphorical emotional vitamins is “vitamin L” or “vitamin love.”  Just like actual vitamins, say C or D, vitamin love is critically important to a child’s developmental needs.  Or, in other words, if parents or caretakers do not provide sufficient, consistent and predictable levels of emotional nurturing, mental health problems in adulthood will surely occur.  There is no way around this stark but important fact.

I visited St Antony’s College Middle East Centre, Oxford University, today (5 February 2020) as guest of Dr Soraya Tremayne, to give a presentation in the run-up to International Zero Tolerance for FGM Day tomorrow. My theme was the necessity to ensure that men are brought onside as activists to #EndFGM. I looked at ways in which, traditionally, men have been mostly unengaged in the realities of FGM (beyond their economic interests and an insistence on ‘purity’) and perhaps how, drawing on recent studies of masculine nurturative behaviour in Egypt, this might be changed.
