Blender is designed, developed and maintained by hundreds of active contributors, with a wide range of skills and experience. It is a true community effort.

To make sure everyone feels welcome, and to facilitate communication and collaboration, Blender defines a number of roles and responsibilities, which can be fulfilled by contributors. Contributors mostly work in the context of module activities and projects, which are defined in more detail in the developer docs.
