I Tried 10 Best-Selling Eos Products—From the Viral Body Lotion to the New Body Wash

Eos launched its spherical, colorful lip balms (you know the ones) in 2009, and it's safe to say the brand has been a viral hit ever since. Fast forward to 2020, the brand expanded from lip care to body care, launching its 24H Moisture Lotion (a TikTok favorite). Soyoung Kang, Eos' chief marketing and innovation officer, says the overwhelmingly positive response inspired the brand to continue expanding its body-focused assortment over the last five years.

Recently, the brand expanded its popular Cashmere collection, which initially featured a shave oil, pre-shave scrub, shave butter, and post-shave body cream. Now, the lineup also includes a body wash, whipped oil butter, body oil, and lip butter. "We saw how fans were layering different products with our best-selling lotion to create their own customized self-care routines," Kang says. "The entire collection features our Cashmere Smooth Complex—a rich blend of shea butter, cocoa butter, and argan butter—which is designed to deliver the ultimate silky-soft feel that our consumers seek."

After scrolling hundreds of videos with fans raving about the products, I tried the collection myself. I wanted a full body care experience, so I cycled through all the cleansing, shaving, and moisturizing products, noting how my skin felt during and after use. Ahead are my thoughts on 10 of Eos' newest and most popular body products.

Shea Better Cashmere Body Wash

EOS Product and Product on Woman's Shoulder

Essence Gant

Transparently, I'm not the hugest fan of fragrance. I generally opt for fragrance-free products, but I tried the Shea Better Cashmere Body Wash in the fresh and cozy scent. The scent is described as "sunshine on your skin and crisp, clean sheets." Because I'm not a fragrance girl, I lean towards very light natural scents on the rare occasions I use fragrant products. While this aroma is still a little stronger than I prefer, it isn't overpowering and doesn't linger too long after you rinse.

Now when it comes to the body wash formula, it's my favorite thing about this product. It's formulated with emollients, oils, and butters to replenish skin moisture as you cleanse. When I work it into my skin, it has a gentle, sudsy lather, making my body feel clean and refreshed but not tight or dry. My skin feels soft, like it's being nourished as I shower.

Shea Better Cashmere Pre-Shave Scrub

EOS Product and Swatch on Hand

Essence Gant

The Shea Better Cashmere Pre-Shave Scrub was an immediate win for me the moment I tried it. Growing up in the '90s and early '00s, I've had my fair share of experiences with harsh body scrubs. However, this scrub features the perfect balance of grit and cream. "Our Pre-Shave Scrub gently exfoliates with sugar to soften hair, remove dead skin cells, and help prevent ingrown hairs," vice president of product marketing and customer innovation Jamie Sachs says. "It lathers into a creamy foam, making it a great prep step before shaving or as a daily exfoliator. It's dermatologist-recommended, hypoallergenic, and made for sensitive skin, ensuring a smooth, irritation-free shaving experience."

Upon application, I felt the sugar granules, and as I massaged them into my skin, they transformed into a soft foam, just as described. The first time I used the scrub, I applied it to my legs and bikini area before shaving to prep my skin and prevent ingrown hairs. I enjoyed the cozy vanilla scent, which was just subtle enough. After rinsing it off, my skin felt instantly softer. It also had a slight glow; I assume this was a result of the shea butter. I love this product so much that I use it as a general body scrub every other day even when I don't need to shave.

Shea Better Cashmere Shave Oil

The Shave Oil (available in three scents) was a pleasant surprise, as I didn't know what to expect. I appreciate the thick formula texture of shave creams and gels, but the oil was just as nourishing. I wanted to compare them in real time, so I used the Shea Butter Cashmere Shave Oil on my left leg and then the 24H Moisture Shave Cream (review below) on my right leg.

In a word, I'd describe the oil as silky. It has a serum-like consistency, so it's lightweight but still heavy enough to feel nourishing and rich. According to Sachs, the formula also allows the razor to glide effortlessly, "which helps to minimize nicks, cuts or shaving irritation." After using the product, I had no razor burn or irritation, and my skin felt very smooth. To my surprise, I prefer it much more than the cream.

Shea Better 24H Moisture Shave Cream

With the Shave Cream, there are four available fragrances, and vanilla bliss is very pleasant. The texture is similar to a rich lotion. Sachs says it "creates a thick barrier that provides cushion and comfort while shaving." It spreads easily on my skin and ultimately gets the job done: a smooth, close shave with no irritation afterward.

There isn't a con I can point to with the Shave Cream; it really does boil down to a matter of preference. I personally enjoy the experience of using the oil more than I do the cream. "If you prefer a lightweight, high-visibility, silky shave, go for the Shave Oil," Sachs advises. If you prefer a smooth, velvety after-feel and ultra-rich cushion, opt for the Shave Cream."

Shea Better Cashmere Whipped Oil Butter

EOS Product and Swatch on Hand

Essence Gant

I'm a body butter baddie, so the bar is high for me. This Shea Butter Cashmere Whipped Oil Butter is definitely one of the best formulas I've tried compared to other brands in the same price range. Right away, I noticed how thick it is. This is a major plus as someone who is very picky about her butters and loathes a runny formula. The texture is cloud-like, and it spreads easily on the skin.

After massaging it onto my freshly shaved legs and the rest of my body, I was immediately drawn to the soft after-feel. My initial thought was, So far so good, but will the moisture last throughout the day? And the answer is yes. After my morning shower, my skin remained soft until it was time for bed. A bonus is that the butter also leaves my skin glowy, even before I add an oil on top.

"Our Whipped Oil Butter is designed for intense, long-lasting hydration, making it ideal for extra dry skin, colder climates, or as a nighttime treatment," Sachs says. "It provides 72-hour moisture with a rich, whipped texture that deeply nourishes and strengthens the skin barrier."

Shea Better 24H Body Lotion

Essence Gant

If you prefer a lighter moisturizer, I strongly suggest trying the 24H Body Lotion (available in six scents). While I prefer to slather my skin in rich butters, the lotion's moisture lasts and my skin feels smooth upon application. Like the butter, it imparts a natural-looking glow to the skin, though it's more subtle. Sachs confirms that the formula is "lightweight, fast-absorbing, and perfect for daily use to keep skin smooth and hydrated without any heaviness."

Shea Better Cashmere Body Oil

Essence Gant

If you can't tell by now, I enjoy feeling soft, silky, and moisturized. Naturally, I was pumped to try this Shea Butter Cashmere Body Oil. It comes in one scent, vanilla cashmere, and the warm fragrance enhances the entire experience.

The pour is more of a trickle from the bottle, so you don't have to worry about using too much. It has a well-balanced consistency: lightweight yet thick enough that it's not too runny. I really appreciate how quickly the oil absorbs. You can achieve soft, glowing skin without leaving a greasy mark on your clothes. It's truly an amazing topper to the butter and the lotion.

My skin type is normal, so I can't say whether it's safe for acne-prone skin. Sachs says that Eos hasn't specifically tested the product for people with acne and suggests patch testing and/or consulting a dermatologist first if you have specific concerns about oils.

Cashmere Lip Butter

EOS Product and Model Wearing Product

Essence Gant

I tried the Cashmere Lip Butter as a standalone balm and as a primer under lipstick. In short, I prefer the latter. When I first applied it, the butter felt very soothing. It moisturizes my lips but mostly sits on the surface and doesn't penetrate as deeply as I would like. Under lipstick, however, it acts like a primer. My lips feel prepped, especially under matte formulas.

"The Cashmere Lip Butter works perfectly as a hydrating primer under lipstick, preventing dryness while ensuring long-lasting, vibrant color," Sachs says. "It's breathable, second-skin feel and peptide-powered hydration makes it a perfect base for any lip look."

Shea Better Ultra Derm Hand Cream

EOS Product and Swatch on Hand

Essence Gant

I always keep hand cream in my purse to ensure my hands stay soft and moisturized after washing. This formula is thick and nourishing, yet not so thick that it’s difficult to rub in. It also absorbs quickly, so you won’t be left with that white residue that some other hand products leave behind. I also appreciate how much is in each tube (2.5 fluid ounces, to be exact). So far, I've only used this product as intended, but I would also use it as a body moisturizer if I were traveling and wanted to avoid packing a full-sized product.

Lip Balm

EOS Product and Model Wearing Product

Essence Gant

You've likely tried the classic, round Eos Lip Balm in multiple flavors. Although this product remains a popular go-to for many, it does not excite me. My lips are generally dry, more so in the cooler seasons, so I opt for lip balms that are thick, nourishing, and deeply penetrative. This formula is too waxy for my needs.
