Gabrielle Union can do no wrong when it comes to hair and makeup. But sometimes, what she has going on feels especially right. At the 56th annual NAACP Awards on Saturday, February 22, the 52-year-old walked the red carpet with a fluffy bob that even she had to agree was one of her best looks yet.

Another collaboration between Larry Sims and his ultimate muse, the short style had a breath of retro movie star energy to it. "My favorite yet!!!" commented Union on her hairstylist's Instagram post showing off the look. "We’ve got so much more up our sleeve!!!" he responded with a winking emoji.
Dubbed a "Black Bombshell Barbie" look by Sims, her hair was side parted and blown out in a big way for tons of body and movement. On the right side of her head, the bouncy curls were tucked behind her ear. On the left, they grazed the side of her face in a big swoop.

Gabby Union's Dress Paid Homage to New York
Though her hair was giving old Hollywood, the gown she paired it with was full east coast. The silver beaded Fall 2025 Monique Lhuillier gown was inspired by "New York opulence" and the Chrysler and Empire State buildings' famous arches, according to an interview the designer did with WWD about the collection.
To bridge the gap between east and west, makeup artist Tasha Reiko Brown created a glow that was neither here nor there—just Gabrielle Union, wherever she may find herself. She described the look as "clean skin focused beauty" with "whispers of peaches" in an Instagram post, noting that she used Chanel Beauty products to make it all happen.
Larry, Tasha, Gabby... what else is up your sleeves?! I know it's going to be great, but this one really is hard to beat.
