In a pinch, no one is worried about using a lip product as a blush. But how about using a blush on your lips? No, I'm not talking a Hailey Bieber-style creamy Pocket Blush dab situation. I mean grabbing your pressed powder and using those pigments directly on your pout.
That's what all the magicians are doing these days. And when I say "the magicians," I'm referring to Mayhem era Lady Gaga and her makeup artist, Sarah Tanno.
Lady Gaga's Blurred Lips
Among the many iconic outfits in the already beloved "Abracadabra" video, one that really sticks out is the all-white gown Gaga wears alongside a bleach-blonde gothic milkmaid braid hairdo. With her skin pale and eyebrows bleached, the main touch of color in the look comes from her cheeks and lips. The latter are a rosy-matte shade, blurred, and most importantly appear just-bitten.

Naturally, plenty of fans begged Tanno for a lip color reveal, one lucky Little Monster received an answer in her Instagram comments. Ultimately, it wasn't a lip product that made the magic happen at all. Instead, it was Haus Labs' Color Fuse Blush in the shade Hibiscus Haze, which the makeup artist pressed onto her client's famous mouth with her finger tip for a blurred finish.

Though the look is especially prominent in the video, the collaborators seem to be using the trick somewhat regularly. At the SNL 50th Anniversary Special taping the 38-year-old's mouth had that same just-kissed, matte effect, and Tanno confirmed she used Hibiscus Haze mixed with Watermelon Bliss at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
"Abracadabra" Makeup
According to a separate Instagram post breaking down the look, Tanno also used the same shade on Gaga's cheeks. Other Haus Labs products of note include Triclone Skintech Foundation in the shades 000 and 40 for that porcelain skin finish and Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliner in White Onyx Matte, which she applied on the singer's waterline, too.
"This project was one of the most fulfilling and full-circle moments in my artistry so far. Being surrounded by such a wildly creative, passionate, and talented group of artists was nothing short of inspiring. We pushed ourselves and each other, elevating our craft in ways that remind me why I do this," Tanno wrote. "As a makeup artist, collaboration is everything—it’s where magic happens. Thank you, Gaga, for always trusting me and for continuously elevating and inspiring my artistry."
We should thank Tanno, too, for trusting us with her secrets. A magician isn't supposed to reveal, but we'll use the powers for good.
