Series 1, Episode 1 - Midlands: Is It All Mundane In The Midlands?
Further details
Darren Harriott, Fern Brady and Ivo Graham get stuck into the middle of the country, to discover if the Midlands is really as mundane as the stereotypes suggest. To test the theory, they disembark in Leicester, one of the most diverse communities in Great Britain.
Beginning with a bit of history, the trio visit the original burial site of Richard III (now a car park), and while Ivo gets stuck into the science of the DNA discovery, Fern and Darren roll their sleeves up at the local fruit and veg market. The three reconnect on the Golden Mile to sample delicious local delicacies before ending their stay with a boozy curry in this city of vast culture.

British As Folk, Dave, review
In the first episode of the new travel show, Darren Harriott, Fern Brady and Ivo Graham visited Leicester but failed to get to the heart of the city.
Emily Baker, i Newspaper, 14th September 2021TV review: British As Folk, Dave
In a way the programme relies on the chemistry and personalities of the three presenters and there was a bit of a problem here. They were all very different but while they clearly got on, I'm not sure if they gelled in a televisual sense.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 14th September 2021British As Folk review
As a trip into corners of the UK that are often overlooked by the media - next week the trio's Mystery Machine rolls up to South Wales - it proves is am amiable, and very watchable, affair.
