Step aside the Real Housewives, because The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is the current reality TV series the internet cannot get enough of. Centered around a group of Utah women, the 8-part series follows the highs and lows of their lives, which are rocked by a swinging scandal. One person who finds herself involved in much of the drama is Taylor Frankie Paul — but are her and Dakota Mortensen still together now?
Released on September 6, the reality series follows a group of Mormon TikTokers, known as 'MomTok', whose lives were thrown into the global spotlight in 2022 when Taylor Frankie Paul revealed she and her then-husband partook in 'soft-swinging' with other couples.
After many of the other moms denied any involvement or knowledge of the swinging, the show sees Taylor attempting to rebuild her friendships and find her way back into the group. She also shares how she and her boyfriend Dakota Mortensen are expecting their first child together, and her third — she was married to ex-husband Tate Paul from November 2017 until May 2022 and they share two children - a daughter, Indy, 7, and a son, Ocean, 4.
What happens for Taylor and Dakota on the show?
In the show, Taylor reveals how she was arrested in February 2023 due to an altercation with Dakota, something she has since described as "one of the worst nights ever" and added, "For me, it changed our relationship because I finally got help."
She then shares how the pair are expecting their first child together, and Dakota is moving in with her and her mum and step-dad, to help care for her while she's pregnant, and when she welcomes their child. Though her parents are not initially happy about the news - largely down to the fact welcoming a child outside of a marriage is seen as a sin - Dakota does move in.
Later, their relationship comes under the microscope during a girls' trip to Las Vegas, when Taylor reveals Dakota is incredibly unhappy with her for going to Chippendales, a male burlesque-style show.
Meanwhile, Layci also tells Taylor that an anonymous woman had shared a confession with her on social media: that she had slept with Dakota without knowing he was with Taylor.
Are Taylor and Dakota together now?
Taylor and Dakota are very much still together. The pair welcomed their first child together, a boy named Ever, in March 2024. Sharing the news on Instagram, Dakota wrote, "Meet EVER MORTENSEN!!!! I have never known a love like this till [sic] now. I could write a book on how incredible this experience has been for me. But all I can say is I have never felt more purpose in my life. I also have never been so proud of someone.
"Taylor is an absolute bad ass that I just fell more and more in love with. She has been so incredible and I couldn’t be more thankful that I get to call her the mother of our beautiful boy. I am on freaking cloud 9 !!!! All I have ever wanted was to have a family one day and to be a dad. So thankful and blessed for everything I have in my life. [sic]"
He also shared a post in August explaining how becoming a father had made him want to be a better person, adding, "I’ve made more mistakes in my life to count. But having a family has forever changed my life and what I truly feel is most important in this world and I will forever fight for that at all costs. ♥️"
Taylor commented saying, "We love you so much."
