Nymphomaniac, Vol. 1
This dark drama tells the story of a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac (Charlotte Gainsbourg) who recalls her erotic past to a man named Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) who takes care of her after she is found beaten in an alley. Good Luck to You Leo Grande
This movie made a big splash when it came out last June, and for good freaking reason. Emma Thompson plays a widowed schoolteacher who hires an extremely hot young sex worker (played by Daryl McCormack) in an attempt to make up for all the sexual satisfaction she missed out on in her unfulfilling married life. The result is a funny, sexy, genuinely touching film that absolutely belongs on your Must Watch RTFN list.

Similarly to Portrait of a Lady on Fire, this features old-timey sex that’s fun partly because it’s taboo for its time. V loosely inspired by a real-life paleontologist, the film imagines a (HOT) relationship with an unhappily married woman. Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan have chemistry, y’all.
