Crochet Jar Covers

Mid April and it is defiantly Spring! The weather is getting warmer and the kids are all off for Spring Break. Spring cleaning has been on my list for this week and part of that cleaning was to go through the kitchen cabinets. I found a few mason jars that were lost in the back of the cabinet, so instead of getting rid of them, why not refresh them and find a use for them?

Mason Jars can be used all around the house, since they have many different uses from holding flowers or candles to organizing items such as school supplies, make up brushes, craft supplies, and cooking supplies.

Here we go a skein fresh off the hook:

                                     Crochet Jar Covers

This quick and easy cover turns a glass jar into a decorative piece or great personalized gift. Grab a mason jar crochet it a cover and fill the jar with Flowers, candy, cookie mix, soup mix, art supplies, tea, coffee, bath salts.... the gift ideas are endless!

I am currently using my covered mason jars as vases and in the future, the small jar will hold my art pens and the large jar will hold craft supplies.

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate!

Have a hooky day! Lynne

Modern Granny Placemats

As springtime settles in, the thoughts of refresh and renew start to stir. The sun shines in and we can open the windows to let the fresh spring air in. We refresh the garden or yards, the flowers and trees bloom and some start to think about spring cleaning.

The month of April at D60 Crochet is about adding color to your life, so why not add color to your dining table? It is fun to refresh a space with handmade pieces and these colorful placemats are a great way to add some bright springtime color to your table!

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                                  Modern Granny Placemat

I call these modern granny placemats since the pattern is done with the traditional granny stitch and an added row of color in between, which makes the colors of the placemat stand out! This pattern is fashioned after the Modern Granny Square that was posted on August 9,2024.

This pattern is great for crocheters of all skill levels since it is done with basic crochet stitches. The stitches used are single crochet and double crochet stitches with a ch-2 between the single crochet stitches.

I love these placemats since they are quick to make and the colors will really brighten up my dining table!

Have a hooky day! Lynne
