In Maths today with Year 8, we were finding the surface area of cubes and cuboids. Plenty of scaffolding in the first task to give the students confidence before moving on to more standard questions.

From the last week of term with Year 8, some practice of finding areas of fractions of circles, including some compound shapes.
With Year 8 we've been practising finding the area and circumference of a circle this week. We used these grids to practice using the correct measurement in each formula, before we move onto worded problems and fractions of circles next week.
