House of the Dragon
Like its predecessor, House of the Dragon likes to counteract all the death and despair with a little romance. Season 2 is no different, briefly showing us Dameon’s (very) creepy relationship with his mother. However, if you stick it out, there’s also a kiss between Rhaenyra and her aid, Mysaria. And if the showrunners know what’s good for them, they’ll let their love blossom in season 3.
Interview with the Vampire
Interview with the Vampire never disappoints when it comes to saucy scenes. Season 2 continues to detail Louis and Lestat’s complicated-as-hell relationship, fit with a reunion 77 years in the making. Plus, Interview with the Vampire happens to employ some of the most attractive actors in the industry. What’s better than hot people in love?
Hacks
I’ve never seen two people match each other’s freaks like Ava Daniels and Deborah Vance. Sure, they aren’t a couple… but they do have chemistry. If you’re curious, no, the comedy duo don’t explore each other's bodies. However, their pent-up tension does lead Ava to have a sexy dream about her on-again-off-again boss. And season 3, episode 6 has not one, but two bedroom scenes—which I won't even begin to describe here. Just watch it.
Presumed Innocent
Okay, hear me out. I know Presumed Innocent follows a murder trial, but it’s also about a very steamy affair. When Jake Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich begins sleeping with his coworker, Caroline Polhemus, he thinks it’s just a fluke that he needs to get out of his system. Then, they fall in love, and Carolyn winds up dead—making him the number one suspect. While her trial unfolds, we learn more about their romance, which makes for some very hot and heavy scenes. His wife, Barbara, even enjoying a fling with their local bartender! So, yes, this show has a lot of legalese, but there’s a lot of sex, too.
Mr and Mrs. Smith
Prime Video's revival of Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a sexy romp from start to finish. The series stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine as John and Jane Smith, secret agents who are paired together to play an unassuming married couple. Their job is to tackle crime, but! Wouldn't you know it—they fall for each other. Cue the hate-that-I-love-you sex scenes. Join us in wishing a second season into existence.
Shōgun
Okay. A 17th-century historical drama may seem like an odd fit here. But don't let Shōgun's AP History syllabus-esque episodes fool you. At the heart of the story is a steamy romance between John—an English sailor who winds up in Japan—and his interpreter, Mariko. All we'll say is: Shōgun is earning Game of Thrones comparisons for a reason.
True Detective: Night Country
Would you believe me if I said True Detective: Night Country has some of the sultriest sex scenes of the year? Look no further than Detective Danvers's very HR-unfriendly fling with her boss, Captain Ted Connelly. Or! Detective Navarro's situationship with Eddie Qavvik, a local business owner. Apparently, there's always time for a little romance—even when you’re hunting down a murderer.
Feud: Capote vs. The Swans
Sure, Truman Capote is known for his jaw-dropping story "La Côte Basque, 1965," which was published in Esquire. But in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, he's more than just a backstabbing journalist. He's a messy lover with more than a few saucy romances. (So many, in fact, that we wrote an entire story about his troubled love life.) Come for the Real Housewives–esque drama, and stay for Capote's frequent flings.
One Day
One Day tracks a—wait for it—20-year-long relationship between a British couple. It's a slow burn, sure, but trust us—it's worth the wait. Every year, the two meet up on the anniversary of their first encounter, until fate (and the machinations of a Netflix-distributed romance series) changes their plans. We won't spoil the ending for you, but you'll want a box of tissues on standby.
Palm Royale
What's hotter than money, power, and oversized sunglasses? In Palm Royale, Kristin Wiig stars as Maxine Simons, a woman on a mission to join the Palm Royale social club. She has her foot in the door, but in order to stay, she has to learn to live like the wealthy. Turns out, the wealthy play dirty—especially in the sheets.
