10 Best Golf Bags on Amazon, Reviewed by Experts

These are functional and good-looking—and will arrive within a few days.

By

In an ideal world, y’all would buy something thanks to our more robust golf-bag story. Yes, Amazon is a great place to get plenty of stuff—TVs, home audio, and gifts for men, to name a few—but Amazon is not a great place to get golf bags, I have to admit. Some sellers stock big brands, but very few of the best brands in golf keep a lot of stock on their Amazon storefront. For that reason, we’d say buy direct from top names like Mizuno and Titleist. Or be the cool guy and buy from brands like Malbon and MacKenzie. Or even go CEO mode and buy something foolishly expensive like a fully leather cart bag from Lucchese or a business-casual carry bag from Tumi.

Now that I’ve said my piece, let me backtrack and point out that there are still some nice golf-bag deals on Amazon. Depending on the stockists, you can find some of the finest bags in the game here, and they can be shipped to you via Amazon Prime. So, after months of market-watching, we wanted to clue you in on the best models.

Best Overall Golf Bag on Amazon

Mizuno BR-D3 Stand Bag

BR-D3 Stand Bag
Pros
  • A cart bag that’s got carry-bag touches
  • The four-divider top can carry a full fourteen-club set
  • The stand is nice and solid
  • The straps are padded enough to disperse extra weight
Cons
  • Amazon sellers don’t always have stock

What’s going to work for most people hitting the course is this: Mizuno’s BR-D3 is an incredible all-around bag, a perfect bridge between a big tour bag and a lighter-weight carry bag. The four-way top can fit a full fourteen-club set. The eight pockets are great for gear hoarders who come to the course loaded up, and the insulated drink pocket is something we don’t normally see at this size, price, and weight.

It’s the size and weight—about 4.5 pounds with a solid two-shoulder carry strap—that make this our favorite overall bag, really. Most golfers walking a course can do so pretty easily with this thing. We love the four-point adjustment and padding across the straps.

All that said, it’s got a rubberized bottom and a back strap if you want to use it as a cart bag. See? All around, it’s a great pick.

Best Tour Bag

Titleist Mid Size Bag

Mid Size Bag
Pros
  • Perfect if you’re always on a cart or with a caddie
  • Premium touches with pockets and leather trim
Cons
  • The tour bag is a commitment, no flexibility
  • Don’t love the giant Titleist logo

All right, big dog, if it’s a tour bag you want, it’s a tour bag you’ll get. For us, the giant logo and beefed-up accents are a bit much, but we like to walk a course anyway. If you’re a cart guy, consistently spring for a caddie, or use an intern as a caddie during work games (do y’all still do that?), nothing’s going to beat this Titleist tour bag.

The six-divider top makes sure clubs aren’t getting stuck on each other on the way in or out. The five pockets have plenty of space for whatever you want to bring. And although I said the branding and finishing are a bit much, I really do appreciate the leather trim on this one.

Best Sunday Golf Bag

Sunday Golf Lightweight Sunday Bag

Lightweight Sunday Bag
Now 36% Off
Pros
  • Nice and lightweight
  • Looks good
  • A stand is great to have on a Sunday bag
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Nothing stellar about it—just solid all around

Cleverly named brand Sunday Golf makes...pretty good Sunday bags. And you’ll find our favorite par-3 bag on Amazon.

First of all, this bag is lightweight, clocking in at two pounds. Unlike some Sunday bags, though, it’s still got a stand, which is a big deal when you don’t have the luxury of a cart. The two-divider top isn’t the perfect size for par-3 courses; we’ve found it to be a tad big for a super-light carry. But that sometimes works in its favor. If you’re traveling and only going to play nine holes somewhere, you can stuff a few extra clubs inside for a slightly-more-than-bare-bones sort of setup.

On top of that, the two pockets are decently sized and keep your valuables separate from your balls, tees, and markers. As far as par-3 bags go, this is an excellent one.

Best Ultralight Sunday Bag

Tourbon Vintage Golf Club Carry Bag

Vintage Golf Club Carry Bag
Pros
  • Looks great—less like an Amazon bag and more like one of our luxury numbers
  • Super lightweight
  • The tee holders are a fun old-school touch
Cons
  • No stand is a tough sell on a Sunday bag

For the city-living, fashion-forward golfer, we love this option from Tourbon. For one, it’s just a solid Sunday bag—nicely sized, good-looking, and durable. It costs a tad more than other Sunday bags, but it looks better and you get a few luxury touches. The rain cover has a soft fleece interior, with leather trim and brass hardware.

Its real benefit is its ability to fold up, though. The bag has structure at the bottom, but through most of it, the weight of the thick twill fabric is what keeps it upright. So if you need to pack it away in a closet or box under the bed, you can just roll the top down to compress the bag.

That aside, not having a stand is a serious knock on a carry bag for us. It’s great for the driving range or city living. But if you’ve got a bit more storage space, get one with a stand.

Best Golf Travel Bag

Bag Boy T-660 Travel Cover

T-660 Travel Cover

Pros
  • Lightweight, so you won’t incur fees
  • Plenty of protection for your clubs
Cons
  • Not a course bag, we know

This isn’t a bag per se, but people are always asking us about a good travel cover. It’s a tough product to make well. It has to be easy on the clubs while also being both sturdy and lightweight. The platonic ideal is this one from Tumi, but it costs a rack.

As far as Amazon options go, we’re really impressed with this one from Bag Boy. The T-660 is sturdy where it needs to be and soft where it can be, balancing durability and weight nicely. The wheels glide pretty smoothly for airport travel. And even though you’ll have to check it, there’s enough to protect it from baggage claim’s not-so-gentle practices.

Mizuno BR-D2

BR-D2
Pros
  • An even lighter multi-use bag
Cons
  • The other Mizuno bag outperforms on a cart

If that first Mizuno is a tad too heavy for you, the BR-D2 can be a decent fix. It cuts down on weight with a slimmer build, shorter legs, and no frills. Plus, it’s still got the hallmarks of Mizuno golf gear: meticulous design, solid construction, and a not-too-professional team look.

The reason the other bag edged out this one for our overall spot is its performance as a cart bag. The extra pound doesn’t change the carrying experience, but the extra space massively improves the cart experience.

TaylorMade Pro Cart

Pros
  • Less obnoxious branding
  • A great big tour bag
Cons
  • Availability on the all-black is hit-or-miss

Another tour bag we love is this one from TaylorMade. There’s nothing that makes it any more or less functional than the Titleist we featured earlier. What makes this one worthy of a shout is the all-black option. It gives you all the performance benefits of a tour bag without making you look like a totally wannabe tour player. The logo is still there, but it’s more low-key in a monochrome black design.

Also worth noting here is its full fourteen-divider top. If you’re frequently hauling a complete set of clubs, this is a good bag for the job.

Nike Nike Sport Lite Golf Bag White | Black

Nike Sport Lite Golf Bag White | Black
Pros
  • In that carry-slash-cart sweet spot
Cons
  • Availability limited on Amazon

Even though I just trashed the idea of looking like a billboard with a tour bag, I will say...it’s okay to have a degree of brand loyalty. Some of us are so enamored by old-school Tiger that we want Nike everything. (We don’t recognize Sun Day Red but are glad he is doing his own thing.)

Apart from the all-in-on-Nike look, this is just another solid carry-slash-cart bag. At around 4.5 pounds, it can pull double duty, a great option for players in a variety of scenarios.

Orlimar Pitch & Putt Bag

Pitch & Putt Bag

Pros
  • A great little par-3 bag for a nice price
Cons
  • Cheap build quality, to be honest

For some people, the only thing a Sunday bag needs to be is cheap. It's not your go-to bag; it’s just the one you bring to the range. In that case, this one comes in at a healthy $70.

Beyond the price, it’s a solid par-3 option. Plus, the plastic carry handle can hook the bag to an even larger cart bag for a putter and wedge situation when you’re on or around the green.

Types of Golf Bags and How to Choose

line
Hearst Owned

Generally, there are five styles of golf bags. The market is a spectrum, with some models being sort of hybrid builds, but below we share the five general types, and when to use each.

Tour Bags or Staff Bags The most pro-level options. They’ll have a bunch of pockets, multiple dividers up top, and space for a full set of clubs. They’re heavier but not so heavy that they are cart-exclusive. The caddie you pay for would gladly schlep one of these around.

Cart Bags Like a tour bag but heavier and made to be on the back of a cart. There are more pockets and space but no double carry straps to make hauling it any easier. If you hired me as a caddie and handed me a cart bag, I wouldn’t say no, but I would talk shit about you behind your back.

Carry Bags Similar to a tour bag but just a tad lighter, with more attention paid to the carry mechanism.

Sunday Bags or Par-3 Bags Made to be lightweight and easy to carry. Most useful when playing a shorter par-3 course.

Travel Bags Though not technically a course bag, these always get grouped. They’re just cases, either hard or soft, to put a golf bag in when you’re on the road or in the air.
