My mission is simple: I want to share as many career possibilities as I can with young adults or anyone considering a career in health care.I have worked in human resource positions for the past 20 years. I have worked in almost all major industries directly or as a consultant. During these 20 years I have become quite an expert on the topic of interviewing. I have achieved the highest level of human resource professional designation (SPHR) and am a certified behavioral interviewer. I have been on the board of the American Lung Association for four years and I have worked for the University Medical Center in Texas and Kiser Permanente in Colorado. These positions made me intimately aware of health care careers.I have interviewed thousands of people, and one common thing I have found is that the majority of people fell into their profession; it was not a planned destination. While I think it is fine to amble through life like I did—and I have enjoyed each opportunity that has come along—I often wonder if I had known then what I know now whether I would have made the same career choices. If I had been able to get my hands on this book as a teenager, I would have definitely considered a career in healthcare.view less
