Liebowitz is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Ashbel Smith Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for the Analysis of Property Rights and Innovation at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles, and he has taught at the North Carolina State University, University of Chicago, University of Rochester, and the University of Western Ontario.
