INTRODUCTION
So you have bought your first Digital SLR Camera! Perhaps you have had one for a while but you are stuck using it on Automatic and are not sure what all these other settings are or what they do. Maybe you have lost interest because it is all too hard to understand and you are not getting the results that you expected from your flashy and expensive investment.
As each model is released we see more and more functionality and greater megapixels. However if you don’t understand the basic settings, no amount of functionality is going to improve your images.
This guide is designed to help you understand the basic settings and allow you to take control of your camera. It is not a manual for your camera. The manual will explain how to change a setting and possibly give you some rudimentary help in choosing settings but I have yet to see one that explains in simple terms how the settings will help you to improve your skills.
Photography requires two main skills. Firstly the ability to take technically great pictures but that is not enough. The second skill requires creative ability and Part 2 of this guide is designed for to give you some techniques and tips to help you understand how to use your
